Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Feedback Sports Alpine Digital Scale. This scale is specifically engineered for weighing cycling products, backpacks, and other sporting or outdoor equipment. It uses and internal sensor. When you first look at this, you're going to think, "Here's the hook. Inside this tube must be a spring." That's not true. It uses an internal sensor, not a tension spring, to get the correct weight.
It does measure in precise 10-gram increments. It easily clamps in a bike repair stand or hangs from a hook. Today, I have it hanging from our ceiling. Then this tube right here allows it to clamp inside of a bike repair stand. That's a really neat feature of the Alpine scale. Also, the hook on this unit is a metal construction, and it's got a nice vinyl coating on it, so you don't have to worry about that scratching your bike frame or scratching or damaging your wheels or other gear, and then the housing is going to feature a nice, rugged, shock-resistant design.
It's a rubber-like material. Holds up well in any toolbox and makes the scale easy to handle. There's going to be three buttons on the unit, on, off, zero, and mode. The mode allows you to switch between pounds, pounds and ounces, and kilograms. Zero simply zeroes out the numbers.
On and off shuts the unit on and off. It does feature an auto shutoff that's designed to save power. That will shut off after around three minutes of no activity. It's going to come with four AAA batteries. Those are included, and they power the unit. Located on the back is where you insert those batteries, inside this compartment right here.
This is going to feature a maximum capacity of 25 kilograms or 55 pounds. The housing from edge to edge going that direction measures about 3-5/8 of an inch, top to bottom of the housing measured about 4-1/2 inches, and the overall thickness front to back, that gave us a measurement of around an inch and a half. This post right here measures 4 inches long and has a diameter of 15/16 of an inch. Then the hook opening, I took a straight line from this point here to this point here, that opening measures 1-11/16 of an inch. When you're ready to use it, simply hit the on button, and then select the mode you need. You got pounds and ounces, kilograms, or just pounds. What we're going to do now is place the bag on there. I just have a bag that we'll place on the hook. It's going to read 1.74. You can change the mode once it's on there. That's 1 pound 12 ounces or .790 kilograms. If you want to zero it out, you can do that just by hitting the zero button. That's going to do it for today's look at the Feedback Sports Alpine Digital Scale.
