Rut tracking occurs when your truck or RV hits an uneven patch of pavement and is, consequently, pulled into that rut and off of the smooth pavement. With larger trucks and motor homes, this problem can be difficult to correct because you have to work extra hard to steer back onto the road.

One way to fix this problem is to brace your vehicle's axle, eliminating excessive axle side play. Blue Ox's TigerTrak mounts between your motor home's rear axle and its chassis and essentially holds your axle in place, steadying it both in normal driving situations and on uneven terrain. As a result, rut tracking and jarring, as well as sway, are greatly reduced, resulting in a more comfortable and controlled ride.

Video Transcript for Blue Ox TigerTrak Rear Axle Stabilizer Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Blue Ox line of TigerTrak Rear-Axle Stabilizers. Now be sure to enter your vehicle in our fit guide, so you can get the exact TigerTrak designed for your application. Now the TigerTrak system is designed to keep our axle squarely under the frame of our RV. It's going to create a connection point from the axle to the frame, so they can't move side to side anymore. This helps to eliminate a lot of common problems you're going to get with RVs. Especially, most RVs have an overhang behind that axle.

Once a passing vehicle or crosswind hits the back side of this RV, it doesn't take a whole lot to get that moving side to side. That's what they call tail wag, so by creating that connection point, we eliminate that. Another common problem that TigerTrak helps to solve is the issue when you're flat towing a vehicle behind the RV, you can kind of feel the weight of that RV and it moves the back of the RV side to side. By creating that connection point, we're going to eliminate any of that tail wag. This is going to, in the long run make our RV much nicer to drive. We're not going to have to have as much steering input.

If the back of the RV goes one way or goes the other, it kind of wants to turn the RV that way a little bit. We don't have to fight that steering wheel so much going down the road. It's going to give us a much more pleasurable experience driving our Coach. Now we're going to take a look at our before and after footage. You'll see I drew two lines. The line on the left is one the axle.

This is going to be the moving portion. The line on the right is drawn on the frame. Now in the before, as we take our corners and stuff, you'll see how those move together and then apart, together and apart. That's inaudible 00:01:39. That's what gives us that tail wag.

With the TigerTrak installed, you can see it's negated that. Not going to have near the movement that we did before, but you'll also notice the yellow lines moving up and down. We still have full suspension travel, just getting rid of the side to side inaudible 00:01:56.Now this is what the TigerTrak looks like installed. You can see we're going to have a frame bracket. That's going to go up and attach to the frame and holds this end of the Trak bar secure. Then it's going to give us a direct link over to our axle. Now these kits have been designed to work with after market accessories like the heavy duty sway bar that we've got installed or this also has airbags over on the driver's frame. There's really been no interference. They've designed the system with that in mind to keep it up and out of the way so it won't interfere with things. Now most of the TigerTrak kits are also designed to go in place with not a lot of modification required. This one happens to be on an E-450 chassis and it just uses the lower sway bar mount and a clamp on the frame. Now having those two connection points and that bar between them is going to eliminate a lot of those symptoms that we talked about before. That's going to complete our look at the Blue Ox TigerTrak Rear-Axle Stabilizers.

My application is a 2017 Ford E450 chassis. I am a return etrailer customer, and ordering and shipping were as simple and quick as they have been for other items I've ordered from etrailer. I also watched the installation video that etrailer provides for many of the suspension upgrade and other parts. They're very helpful, and I recommend them. Now, for my comments on the kit. First, the instructions are not particularly good. Barely adequate is probably a better rating. Hence my recommendation to watch the video. In fact, the instructions I received with my kit had some obvious errors, and some less-obvious omissions. Rather than spacer set screws, the nut plate now has a little angled flange at one end that provides offset and keeps the plate relatively flat when tightened down. And, my axle bracket was different than the one in the video, but that turned out to not be a problem. Given that there are only three major parts, the shortcomings of the instructions aren't really that critical, but it's definitely worth laying out the parts on the ground as they'll be installed to make sure all the orientations and assembly makes sense. Now, for the real problem. BEWARE, the video is very good in terms of depicting the install process steps, but unless you have a grease pit or hydraulic lift, you'll be working under the vehicle, and that's a VERY different experience. While not a shortcoming of the kit itself, it did significantly influence my install experience. Basically, on my chassis, it took some pretty strenuous contortions to get a torque wrench onto the bolt heads. And, given the length of torque wrench required for some of the bolts, you'll be lucky to get maybe 15 degrees of rotation before ratcheting back. I had to use an open end torque wrench extension (that many/most home mechanics probably will not have) to get on the pivot bolts for one end of the bar as the fuel tank simply did not allow room for the torque wrench ratchet head and socket. Clearances on my chassis seemed a bit tighter than that it the video, some of which was undoubtedly because I was on the ground, but not all. So, while not TECHNICALLY difficult - again, it's basically three bolt-on parts - this install was, for me, physically quite difficult. I wouldn't recommend it as a DIY.

From a performance standpoint, the bar delivers the expected performance. I'd already installed front and rear aftermarket sway bar upgrades, and a steering stabilizer on my vehicle, so it already handled pretty tight in cross winds and corners, but still wandered a bit towing. With the trac-bar, that sort of squirrely tail-wagging feeling is gone, and the vehicle now feels as stable when towing as not.

when I decided to upgrade my w22 workhorse suspension on my 36 ft Coachman Santara , the concern was sway and control on the interstate surrounded by the big rigs from 50 to 70 mph, My Coachman would get to be a hand full due to cross and push winds.
I installed the front and rear roadmaster sway bars, front and rear trac bars and a reflex steering stabilizer.

2),Blue Ox TigerTrak Rear-Axle Stabilizer TT2601
3), Roadmaster front Anti-Sway Bar - RM-1259-106 with trac bar
it now drives ai a far more relaxed condition , should have done it year ago

Since installing the Blue Ox rear trac bar the MH has improved handling windy days and passing semis or when they pass me, it really helps in cross winds too. 2016 F53 22000# chassis.

The bar and mounting hardware are very beefy and well designed for a 'no drilling' installation. With etrailer's quick shipping, and excellent web pages are there to help if needed.

Everyone keep in mind, while the instructions are accurate, are written for multiple vehicles so there may be steps you can ignore. You will get everything required for your particular installation.

I'll add more later, after some miles to see if it's the trick for 'tail-end' wagging.

Peeps listen up!!! If your RV's tail wags when your being passed on the interstate or in a crosswind buy this product. The instructions were not very clear BUT Blue OX was more than willing to help me figure it out and they promised they are rewriting the instructions. I no longer have to drive maximum of 60 on the interstate with both hands on the wheel and nervous!! 70 mph with 1 hand is very comfortable!!!! Compared to the tension or a crash the cost is minimal!!! My RV is a 2014 32 foot long it now drives like a pickup truck!!!!!!
Blue OX you are the stuff

The anti-sway bar has been a great addition to our 28 foot Class C. As I write this, I’m in the California Delta and just finished crossing the Antioch bridge on a very gusty day. The anti sway bar made it a much easier crossing.

TT2400 trac bar does everything advertised. Fit is good only complaint is the directions could be better written and maybe a couple pictures would help. E-trailer can not be beat!!! Excellent service and knowledge.

George and the team were able to expedite processing. I got the part just in time to install it for my vacation. I am very pleased with the service and the performance of the Blue ox Tiger Track on my motorhome.
