Today we'll be taking a look at, and I'll show you how to install, a PTC engine air filter on our 2016 Honda Odyssey.Our engine air filter filters the air coming into our engine. When our filter gets built up with dirt and debris over time, it's going to make our engine work a lot harder than it has to, and that added stress makes parts fail, so it's best to change this regularly. This is a very simple install. You can definitely do it at home in your driveway.
I would suggest not paying someone to do this.To start our installation we want to locate our air box in our engine compartment. It's located right here. To remove our cover there's going to be three tabs: one here, here, and one on the backside. We'll simply pull this down. The back one can be kind of hard to reach, but get those loosened.
You can pull up on our filter cover, and then our engine air filter will come right out.So I went ahead and removed our old filter. As you can see, it's very dirty. There's tons of dirt and debris in here, which is actually a good thing because our filter is doing what it's supposed to, but this should have been changed a long time ago. I mean, you can see all that dirt and debris in there. It's just not good for our engine to run a filter like this.
When we compare that to our old filter, you can see how clear the difference is of which one's new and old.Our filter is pleated so it will catch any of that dirt and debris coming through our air box. It does have a really nice silicone lining around the outside to ensure a tight air seal in that compartment. Our filter also has plastic ridges. As you can see, it's very sturdy. It's not going to flex as a lot of air is coming through.To get our new filter into place you simply lift back up on this cover, drop our filter in and make sure it's completely seated, and then push our tabs in on our other side.
You might have to wiggle it around a little bit just to make sure that those tabs get pushed in. There we go. Then we can push our snaps back up over the top of our cover. And as you can see, this is very simple install.That's going to do it for a look at and installation of a PTC engine air filter on our 2016 Honda Odyssey.

This is the correct filter for my vehicle - exactly what I ordered. Delivery took so long that I started to doubt that the order had gone through. I got tired of waiting and bought one locally and installed it. I’ll use this one in the future so it all worked out.
My package arrived in ok condition! Way to much much room to be shaken and be destroyed. Luckily mine arrived ok. Some of the original packaging was dented and deformed do to over sized box! I got lucky!

Looks like good quality, but the car is new and I haven't installed it yet.
I clearly identified my vehicle as a 2000 Mercedes Benz E320. The air filters (3) which you sent me are the right width, but are an inch too long, and are therefore unusable. They cannot be made to fit in the air cleaner compartment. Not acceptable.
