Hi everyone, it's Eve Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Rhino-Rack leg spacer blocks for your heavy duty crossbars. So, these spacer blocks are designed for your RL, RLCP, RLTP, or RLTF towers. And those are just the different types of towers that Rhino-Rack has, whether they be gutter mounted or backbone system mounted. You can find out what type of tower you have by checking out our product pages, which describe what they do and where they mount. But these are designed for, usually, the third crossbar of your system. That way you have, sort of, a level crossbar system, especially since you have three.
You want to make sure that everything's aligned, everything's parallel, that way you can carry your cargo and they're more evenly distributed. So these come in different sizes or different heights. What we have here is one of these smaller sizes. So this is three eighth inches tall. This fits perfectly on the vehicle it's installed on right now, which is a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
But as you check out our fit guide here at etrailer, we have different recommendations or different kits, of crossbar systems for your specific vehicle. So make sure to follow that, that way you have the correct spacer size for your crossbar, for your vehicle. The install process is very simple because it just replaces your pre-existing hardware on your towers. Make sure you already have the towers or include the towers when you get these legs spacers. So let's take a look at that process.
Now, these are designed to be used, usually underneath the rearmost bar. So I already installed the first two crossbars on our Jeep and we're gonna install the third one together, using these spacer blocks. So, you're gonna have your towers. So notice how they already have a bolt and they have this plate inside. You're going to take that bolt off and replace it with a bolt included with your spacer bars.
But make sure to keep the washers that are included with your original bolt. So this is the old bolt, and this is the bolt included with your spacer bar. So use that one, put those washers on that bolt, just like that. And then feed this underneath your tower. Then you're gonna get your spacer block ready, so get that in place. Just pop it right on there. Notice how well it fits into your tower. Then you're gonna screw that rectangular plate, right on top of it. So just twist that until it's barely tightened onto that bolt. Now do the exact same thing on the other tower with your spacer block, as well as your longer bolt. Now, to tighten down those bolts once you do have it on your roof rack, you're going to use this five eighth inch socket or a five eighth inch wrench to do so. So once you have both spaces, replacing your original hardware on your tower, that's pretty much it for the install process that's specific to the spacer block. You can then proceed just like you would with any other Rhino-Rack roof rack tower, which is that you feed your tower into your square crossbar, slide it through, tighten it down, and then you install it onto your vehicle. So my thoughts about these spacers is I like how this is the way that Rhino-Rack makes your system custom fit for your vehicle. Because you have different vehicles, you have different ways of mounting your crossbars. You want to make sure that you have the best fit for each and every one. And that involves having different heights for leg spacers, as well as having different towers. So this is a way to make that a custom fit for you. So again, make sure to follow the instructions here at etrailer as per what kind of kit you're going to use as, as well as what kind of spacer. I do like how the install process is very simple though, and really easy to do. So that was a look at our Rhino-Rack leg spacer blocks for your heavy duty crossbars, here at etrailer..
