Hi, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the WeatherTech CupFone extension piece. This is gonna be a piece that you might use to add onto your current CupFone kit. Or if you already had an extension piece and needed to replace it, this is the exact replacement part. So I'm gonna show you real quick how to install it, as well as how it is used in your vehicle. So this is gonna add four inches to your current CupFone mount.
And, the reason you might be interested in an extension is maybe you just want a little bit more versatility, or if you're using this in a boat or an RV, you might find that those cup holders are a little close to the ground, and this will get your phone a little closer to you. So notice here how I'm just loosening the bolt, or the knob on the end of our bracket right now. We're then going to pop out this bolt here. And then we're gonna take off the original piece. And then, we're gonna replace it with our extension piece.
Fortunately, you cannot get this backwards. This will have two prongs on one side and then three prongs on the other. So fit the two into the three. And then to make it easier for yourself, you can slide this up and down, as you get the best fit to put this bolt back through. So this does have to be centered.
And then notice how there's a cutout for that bolt, and that's how you know which side the bolt goes and then which side the knob goes to tighten down. Now once that's secure, you can then adjust this up and down. The only reason you would adjust this is if you wanted to go down to the original height setting. Otherwise, most people use it in this setting. If you wanted that full 180 degree movement, you'll have it down here.
Now we're going to attach our top piece together. And this is gonna be in the exact same way you installed your connection extension piece. And just like that, we are able to extend our CupFone. From a normal phone mount, now it's an extended phone mount. We can get our phone closer to ourselves and in a more accessible or viewable spot. Now, this can be used with your different CupFone series. So whether you have the Two View, like what I have here, or the Universal or the XL, then you can use this extension piece, either as a replacement or an upgrade part to your WeatherTech CupFone sets.
