Today we're gonna be taking a look at the lock kit for Thule Chariot Light or Cross child carriers. It secures your child carrier to your bike. This lock kit is gonna lock the trailer to the bike, and it's also gonna lock your hitch arm to the trailer. So the likelihood of someone trying to steel your bike or child carrier will be reduced if they are locked together, that's an added benefit of the product. You can see everything that it comes with laid out here on the table. It's gonna come with two keys, it's gonna come with a cylinder which is a lock core, it's gonna come with a lock housing with a lock core already installed, and it's gonna come with the necessary security pin.
The unit also comes with detailed installation instructions. Since I don't have a carrier I really can't show you how it installs, but what I can do is I can walk you through these instructions. It's gonna have detailed diagrams. It's gonna walk you through each step of the process. Pretty simple installation, and instructions with the pictures make it a lot more easier. So those detailed installation instructions are included. This piece right here is the piece that would attach to the bike side of the carrier.
It's got a nice lock core in there, very easy operation. It's got a shutter on it so it's gonna keep out dirt and grime. That's just quarter turn operation. It's gonna have a durable, heavy-duty plastic housing, it's gonna keep that protected. Then you're gonna get this lock core.
This isn't a master key. What this is is, this is a key that brings those tabs in which allows for installation and removal of the lock core so you'd use this during the installation process. This lock core gets installed on the child carrier end so that's included as well. Those do match, and the two keys will work on either one of those lock cores. Of course it's gonna come with a safety pin which according to the instructions gets installed here at the end of the carrier arm and at the bicycle.
Again, this is designed for the Light one-child or two-child carriers and the Cross one-child or two-child carriers. That's gonna do it for today's look at the lock kit for the Thule child carriers.
