Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the second child seat for your Thule Sleek urban stroller. This is going to allow you to change your single capacity, urban stroller into a double stroller so that you can take two little ones along with you.So if you have kids that are around the same age, this is going to be a great option for you. Of course, each seat has a weight capacity of 33 pounds. So you want to make sure that they're going to fall into that range and they need to be at least six months or older to use these seats. This kit is going to include a second seat, as well as the adapter set so that you can put a second seat on here.
One thing I will say about this is it's going to be very convenient for you to take two little ones along with you, but you're going to be a little bit limited in the configuration of your seats. So it kind of point that out for you here. So your seats can face forward or backward, but if you have both seats facing forward, that second seat is going to be pretty close to that front seat. So there's not going to be a whole lot of leg room for the child back here. They might start kicking their sibling in front of them. That's probably not an ideal situation. You can have both seats facing backward if you like, but in order to do so now you're going to have to remove your storage container under here in order for there to be enough leg room for the second seat to face back like that.
So it is possible again, but you would lose that storage capacity. So I think the best orientation is the way I have it here with the seat facing forward and the rear seat facing back. Now, these seats are virtually identical. You're going to have the same canopy to prevent sun glaring in their eyes. You're going to have the same peekaboo window here, although you probably won't be able to see in there with that front seat there. You're going to have the same ventilation available.
So that from those really hot days, they're not getting too hot in there. You also have the same fold-away bumper bar to help keep them restrained, but also make it easier for you to get in there, put them in and take them out.The same child resistant 5-point safety harness. So very comfortable for them and helps keep them safe. So pretty much everything is the same, but it's not an exact replacement for the seat that originally came with your Thule Sleek. The main difference is how they attach. So I'll show you that real quick here.So we're going to take that seat off.
Se it to the side and we'll take the seat off as well. So now you can kind of see the frame of our stroller once we have our seats off. So this kit is going to include this adapter system. So I'll take those off real fast and show you how these get put on, in place. So here we have our original seat mounts for our single stroller, where our seat just clicks in. So we can take that along for our double. We're going to remove that seat and we're going to use these adapters here. They're going to fit right in place of that original seats, on those mounts. They're going to click into place. So we know they're nice and secure, and you can see on the side here, they're going to sit right on that railing. So it's going to give us extra support, right there where the seat is going to set. So that's for our top seat, which is going to give us the mounting point for our original seat. These brackets are different. The seats, how they mount is different. So you won't be able to use your second seat up here. You'll have to use the original seat up heater and use the second seat for these lower brackets. And these are going to install right onto these poles or studs that we have at the bottom of our frame, where a basket is going to connect. So they're just going to slide right in place.Very simple to do, put them on the frame, slide them down and then click them in. That little portion there. It's going to click around the frame to make sure that it's nice and secure. That's going to give us our lower portion. So if we try and use the original seat down here, it's going to bind up. It's got a different bottom opening portion. Then the second seat that comes with the adapters. So we're going to have to keep track of which seat, goes where. Then once we have everything installed, it's very easy to get those to click in place. Now, the second seat does come in a variety of different colors. So the one I have here, this is the midnight black option. If you already have a stroller with different color scheme, there are second seats available. You can find them using the part numbers that you see on the screen there from your black on black, gray melange, shadow gray, energy red, and navy blue.We have all those options available so that you can match your second seat to your original stroller. Overall, I think this is a great way to adapt the stroller that you already have to accommodate your second one. your second child and make sure that everybody is going to be happy. They do include a second ring cover for the seat as well. So you don't have to make that undesirable decision of which child gets protected from the rain, which one doesn't. Both will have their ring covers so that everyone's going to be happy. So overall, great option if you do have two little ones to convert your Thule Sleek Stroller to a double. So it's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
