Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the plug retention clip for your Peterson clearance side marker lights. So this little guy just helps to keep your wiring in place on the back of your lights so you don't have any issues whenever you're going over potholes, or maybe some rougher pavement. It's just going to keep that plug on the back of your light to keep everything working as it should.So the light that it fits with should look something like this. It's going to work with the 189 and 190 series lights from Peterson. So you can see, I already have that plug on the back.

That's what we're looking to keep in place with our clip. It also has a little hole there, so you can actually mount it to a secure spot to help give it a little bit more stability as well.So you can fit this little guy arms of this little piece around the light housing. You can see there's two little tabs on either side. It's going to fit underneath and alongside those. And then that little arm up at the top is going to push on our plug.

So it just snaps in place. There's also two little, bitty prongs on either side to prevent it from rotating as well.Now that that's in place, it's really nice and secure. Then you can also put it the other way, so it'd be going between the wires. Let's check that out. Yeah, it looks like that fits just fine.

So you can also do that, which will probably be a more likely orientation for this so that your wires are going down, away. And then if you want to use that mounting hole, you can with that light oriented like that.So, pretty easy. Just slips right in place. Does have a little bit of flex to it. So it should flex around your lighting plug.

Probably will work better for a plug that goes at a right angle, like the one I had. Or one going off to the side rather than one that's going to go straight out. So, I think most of them are oriented either like this or going over to the side. With either one, it should work just fine.There is a limited lifetime warranty on this little guy. Again, should work for any of those 189 or 190 series lights from Peterson and should keep everything in place as it should. That's pretty much all there is to it for our retention clip.
