Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the S-hooks for your safety chains. Obviously, your safety chains are an important component of pulling a trailer. They're going to be your secondary safety device in case your primary connection we're to fail, your safety chains are there to help keep you connected, to keep your trailer connected to your tow vehicle, and these S-hooks are an important component of those safety chains. If you don't know already, you probably do, but your link of your safety chain will go in that small, in there. Your large end will hook onto your tow vehicle to allow you to keep those connected.
These are made of a zinc plated steel, so they're going to be very sturdy, very strong, should do a good job for you, and with that zinc plating, they're going to resist any corrosion, rust, anything like that. So they should last you a long time. Do a good job. Hold up well for you. They do have a diameter of 7/16". Do want to give you a few other dimensions here.
So our large opening, which is going to connect onto our tow vehicle, it's right about 7/16, I'm sorry, 7/8" wide. Our small opening. So it's closer to 11/32" wide. And our overall length, it's right about 4-7/16". So they're not the biggest S-hooks I've ever seen, but they should do a good job help you connect to your safety chains, to your tow vehicle, to give you that secondary safety device in case your trailer we're to come disconnected. That's going to complete our look at the S-hooks for your safety chains.
Thanks for watching.
