Today we're going to take a look at the Flex-a-Lite oil cooler sandwich adapter kit. This is a size 20mm by 1 1/2" thread. This adapter is designed to fit under your oil filter on your vehicle's engine and it provides oil supply to the external engine oil cooler. It is required for most engine oil cooler installations to provide oil flow to the cooler. The way you select the correct size sandwich adapter is you get your size of your oil filter gasket diameter and the screw thread to match your vehicle. The nice thing on this adapter if you look at the very bottom on the inside here it has a thermostatic bypass in it and what that does is it allows the oil that's cooler than 180 degrees to bypass the cooler so your engine will warm up a lot faster. This part includes everything shown here.

The sandwich adapter itself, the O ring and then the sleeve mounting nut. The adapter, the thicknesses, it will drop your filter down about 1 5/8". The sleeve and nut thread size is 20mm by 1 1/2" and the O ring diameter is 2 1/2". This part is designed to fit some metric Chevrolet, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles and metric Honda, Acura, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and some others. Now this will require a 3/8" or 1 1/2" end PT oil cooler hose adapter fittings that will match your vehicle's oil cooler hose. Again we do sell those separately. The way you go ahead and install this, you remove your oil filter from your engine. Take your O ring, put it right here on top of the sandwich adapter. Slide this up to where the oil filter was and then using your sleeve nut that has the threads for your engine, slide that up in there and then you'll just go ahead and thread that up and that will attach this to your engine just like that.

Then your oil filter will thread back onto those threads right there. That should do it for the review on the Flex-a-Lite oil cooler sandwich adapter kit. This one is a size 20mm by 1 1/2" threads.
