Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Derale Thermal Fan Clutch. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1989 to 1991 Suzuki Sidekick 1.6 liter inline four engine. Now this part will include everything shown here on the table. It includes the thermal fan clutch, before-heat treated mounting bolts, and a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this installs. Basically, the fan clutch, it's an important component of most belt-driven fan systems. Basically, it'll ensure that the fan is engaged at low speeds or high temperatures to provide adequate airflow to your vehicle's cooling system. And a thermal fan clutch relies on this thermostatic coil right here to read the under hood temperature.

When that temperature reaches a set level, the fan will engage to provide additional airflow for your cooling system. And if the temperature drops to a set level, the fan will then disengage to save on power and decrease the load against the engine, thus allowing your vehicle to run more efficiently. This one you can see is a nice aluminum construction, allows for maximum heat dissipation. It is a multi-fin design, transfers greater volume of air to dispel more heat, and it does use a heavy duty bearing with high temperature Moly Grease to create a more durable, higher functioning clutch.
