Firestone Ride-Rite Extreme Duty Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2022 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ram 2500, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Air Helper Springs. These air springs are gonna mount between the frame of your vehicle and the axle, and what they're designed to do is they're designed to take some of the load so that not all of the load, whether it's in your bed or on your hitch, is going to be on your vehicle suspension. They're gonna give you a much more comfortable ride and help you to level that load. A lot of times, what's happening with these heavier-duty trucks is the suspension is a little bit softer from the manufacturer's, so that the truck is more comfortable when you're driving around every day. Well, that doesn't really help you when it comes to towing a trailer, or in the case of this truck, they're towing a big fifth wheel trailer that weighs 18,000 pounds when loaded down fully. more

Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2016 Ram 2500 we're gonna be showing you how to install the Timbren rear suspension enhancement. Before we get into that, though, let's just take a couple of minutes, do a couple tests, check these out and make sure they're gonna work for you. So one of the things that we like to do is some before and after. That way we can compare our suspension enhancement to our factory suspension and really see if it makes a difference. So right now before we put the Timbrens on, we have our factory suspension and I put a decent amount of weight in the bed of the truck, about 200 gallons of water. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Installation - 2021 Ram 2500- Video
Hey guys today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System here on our 2021 Ram 2,500. So what are Timbrens and why do we need them Well Timbrens themselves are gonna be replacement for your factory jounce spring. They're gonna be in a replacement upgrade therefore, we're gonna do more to reduce sag and squat when we're towing those heavy loads. So if you guys tow frequently with your trailer or you just simply haul a lot in your truck bed you're probably gonna quickly realize that the factory suspension isn't really the best for this. Especially with the coil springs in the rear of this truck here. They ride great out on the highway but when you need to load 'em up they can really start to suffer from sag and squat which causes a whole bunch of other issues with the vehicle. more

Today, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System here on our 2011 Ram 2,500. So the main purpose of our Timbren Springs are they're going to reduce the amount of sag or squat we have while we're towing or hauling a heavy load.The reason that's important is a lot of people don't actually realize some of the effects that our suspension has when we're squatting down. So without the Timbren's, our truck here depending on the amount of load we have is going to be squatting a couple inches and that couple inches, believe it or not, is going to have some drastic effects on our truck and towing.So what most people notice is that the truck's squatting and it just looks stupid. It looks kind of dumb having the rear end of your truck all the way down with the front end of your truck pointing up. But aside from that, there's actually a lot more going on behind the scenes most people aren't aware of.Number one, we're going to be wearing out our factory suspension much sooner than we would normally driving without a load. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Timbren rear suspension enhancement system on our 2019 Ram 2500. Now, the reason why you might want a suspension upgrade on your Ram is because whenever we're towing a heavy trailer or we have a heavy load in the back of the truck, we'll notice that the back end is going to want to sag down. Well, not only are we putting a lot of strain and stress on our suspension, but we're actually doing a little bit of harm to the front of our truck as well. The back end is going to get pushed down, the front end's going to get raised up, which means our tires aren't going to be in contact as well. Not to mention our headlights are going to be pointing up rather than down at the road, so we're going to be blinding people as we drive.So we're going to go ahead and measure our truck the way it sits now that we can get a baseline, we'll add some weight, and remeasure it. So if I measure it from the center line of the wheel to the arch of the wheel well, I'm getting about 43 and 3/4 inches here at the back. more

Now, our Ram specifically has coil springs in the back which, when we're unloaded, gives us a really comfortable ride. But as soon as we start putting a lot of gear, a trailer back here, anything we start weighing it down, the back end is really going to start squatting. Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs. Here on our test course you will notice on our left side of our screen as we go over the speed bumps with the factory suspension setup on our weight, we get a lot of up and down movement, which in turn puts a significant amount of strain on the suspension. On the right side of the screen you will see the new air bags installed. You will notice as we go over bumps the air bags will greatly reduce the strain on the factory suspension while providing a much safer ride, while leveling out your vehicle when loaded and prolonging the life of your factory suspension.Here on our slalom course with our factory setup, we'll see a lot of body roll when loaded. With the new air bags installed the ride feels much more solid and stable, while greatly reducing body roll. This is what our bag looks like when it's installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Ram 2500, you're going to be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Airlift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with internal jounce bumpers for the rear axle, part number AL88289. This is what our air bags look like when they're installed. It's gonna be a hybrid spring style system, which means that it's gonna provide you with not only an adjustable air bag, but it's gonna have a built-in internal jounce stopper. The internal jounce stop is gonna prevent the vehicle from bottoming out when the bags are at a lower air level.What's nice about these bags is they can be inflated and deflated independently, to adjust for any off center loads you may have in the back of the vehicle. They can be adjusted anywhere from 5 to 100 PSI. They're gonna have a 5,000 pound load carrying capacity, or weight carrying capacity. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs, for the rear axle part number is F2706.Now the need for airbags typically comes from towing or hauling situations, we're either gonna load the back of our truck up with a bunch of stuff, this one happens to have a fifth wheel so it's gonna have a lot of pin weight on it, maybe you've got a heavy utility trailer and it's causing sag in the rear of your truck. Now that's a negative thing, we don't want sag in the back of the truck that's putting unnecessary stress on that rear suspension system. By adding in an airbag kit like we've done we're gonna use that capability of that airbag to level our suspension back out. That's gonna take that excess pressure off of the rear end and give us a much longer lasting suspension system.Now as a by product of sag in the rear of our vehicle the front of our vehicle is going to raise up slightly. Now that doesn't sound like a big deal but just think how much pressure it takes to lift the front of the truck. When we put that weight on the back and the front end comes up we're taking a lot of weight off the front tires, when we do that steering, handling, and braking are all gonna be kind of numb, they're not gonna be as sharp and as crisp as they typically feel. more

So on the left side of our screen, you'll see what the vehicle's like going down our test course with a heavy load on the suspension. This is with the factory suspension in place. On the right, we have it with the airbags installed. You can see when we're going over bumps how much greater the stability is and how much less rebound there is with the airbags, giving us a better ride, improved stability, and greater safety.We'll give this a load leveling capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. I would like to point out they won't add 5,000 pounds to our gross vehicle weight rating. more

Today on our 2015 Ram 2500, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Airlift Load Lifter 5000 Air Helper Springs. These are designed for the rear axle. The part number is AL57280. Here's what our airbags look like installed. As you can see they've completely replaced that factory jounce bumper. This is going to give us a lot more support back here on the rear end. It's also going to soften it up so when we do have a heavy load on, that jounce bumper isn't constantly hitting the axle. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2016 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2016 Ram 2500, we're going to show you how to install the Firestone Ride Rite Double Convoluted Air Helper Springs for the rear axle. The part number is F2580. Now before we begin our installation, we're going to get a couple of measurements here inside the rear wheel well and the front wheel wells, so we have them for reference. It looks like we're right at about 43 1/2 here on the back and about 40 1/4 here in the front. Now we've loaded about 175 gallons of water in the back here, just to simulate either 5th wheel or gooseneck weight here, or a trailer load on the back and let's see what we've got now as far as measurements. It's like we're down here about 2 inches to 41 1/2 and we've come up about 1/4 inch here in the front to 40 1/2. All right, we got the same load in the back of the truck now, just a bit more wet out here this afternoon, so we're going to use our inflater here. more

Today on this 2015 Ram 2500, we're going to be installing the Firestone ride right air helper springs, part number F2580. These air helper springs will help with taming the load in the rear of your truck by keeping it more level and reducing the strain caused by heavy loads such as campers, construction equipment, or heavy tools. The simple instructions help make them easier to install. The bags themselves have adjustable air pressure settings from 5 to 100 PSI. These will not increase your weight carrying capacity so you want to be sure to double check your manufacturer's weight limit. Before we start our installation, let's get a measurement to see how high the rear of our truck sits unloaded. It's about 43 and a quarter inches. Let's also get a measurement to see where the front sits. more

Firestone Work-Rite Air Helper Springs Kit Installation - 2014 Ram 2500- Video
Today on this 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab we're going to show you the Firestone Work Right Custom Helper Spring Kit, part number F8611. With a heavy load, the rear suspension will sag and reduce handling. When Work Right springs are installed these springs will also increase the driving stability and handling giving you more control when hauling a load down the road. You can see how the spring actually just barely touches the inaudible 00:00:29 axle, which is perfectly okay. Under normal circumstances when the truck's not loaded, you probably won't feel much at all. When the truck does get loaded, it actually compresses on the springs a little bit and will actually level up the load on the inside of the truck. In this case, it's probably going to be a gooseneck trailer. We'll go ahead and lift the weight of the truck off the suspension to give us a little more working room. more

Today on our 2012 Gram Pickup 2500 series, well be installing the Firestone Ride Rite Air Helper Springs, part number f2299. Now the vehicle that well be installing these on today is a gas motor as well as a 4x4.Now here's our bottom bracket, we're over here on the driver's side, you'll notice how there's a difference between here and here. It depends on whether you have a gas or a diesel vehicle. This particular truck is a gas motor so we're going to be using the narrower opening here, and what this done is it fits in between the U-bolt here on the axil. So we'll just kind of show you how it slides into place. So now it can't really move around. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Spings Installation - 2012 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2012 RAM 2500, we'll be installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs, part number AL57295. Our vehicle with the manufacture set-up and no weight measuring from the driver's side rear wheel well to the ground is 43 inches. With approximately 2,000 pounds added to the bed, changes it to approximately 4 1/4 inches. Now we'll take the vehicle and run it through our test course. We'll go through our slalom course and the body role will be excessive with the weight. Now as we go over the bumps course, you'll notice the large suspension travel with the weight in the bed of the vehicle. Now, with our new Air Lift helper springs installed and approximately 70 PSI in our airbag system, it will hold the 2,000 pounds to 41 3/4 inches for only 1 1/4 inch drop from our factory ride heighth with no weight. Now with our air helper springs installed and the same weight in the back, we'll repeat the same process going through our slalom course. more
