Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2024 GMC Terrain

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT trailer hitch receiver on a 2024 GMC Terrain. Now this is what your hitch is gonna look like when it's installed on your Terrain and the great part is it's a hidden cross tube so all the structural part that bolts up to the vehicle is hidden behind the rear fascia leaving only the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening visible. So that's the great part is you get a nice clean look, but all the usability of a hitch and being that it is two inch by two inch, that means you have a ton of options when it comes to accessories. So whether you're getting a bike rack, cargo carrier, or ball mount, you're gonna have plenty to choose from, being that this is kind of the standard size. Now all of them are gonna stay in place with a five eights pin and clip. This is not included with the hitch, but a lot of times your accessories will come with them. more

There's only some minor differences, and we're going to touch on those here. One of the first things that I noticed was a difference between our Curt here and our Draw-Tite was, that the Draw-Tite does have the option to use a J-Pin while the Curt doesn't.I did also notice that the clearances for our Curt, it was slightly more tucked up underneath the vehicle than what our Draw-Tite was. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 GMC Terrain

Ryan: Hey everybody! Ryan here at etrailer. Today, on our 2018 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver. So, one of the great things about this set up is that, for the most part, it's going to be completely hidden and look pretty good on the back of your Terrain. Really, the only thing you're going to be able to see is the receiver tube opening and it's actually got to come out a little ways, making it a lot easier to get to and use, especially if you plan on using those folding-style accessories and that's great because it's really going to open up your options and allow you to use pretty much whatever you want. So whether you plan on doing some towing, using a cargo carrier, or even a bike rack, this hitch is going to get the job done.Since this is a Class 3 hitch, it's going to have that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening which is a really common size and works with a tone of different style accessories. It's going to have a reinforced collar for extra strength and I think it looks pretty good, too. It's going to use these standard, 5/8ths size pin and clip, but keep in mind one does not come included. more

Hey everybody, it's Rob here etrailer.com, and today we're going to take a look at the Draw-Tite Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2020 GMC terrain. Now here's what the hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. I think it has a really clean, almost factory, appearance because most of the hitches is going to be hidden behind the bumper, and the main thing we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. It does stick out, but it's not sticking out past the bumper, so we're not going to have to worry about hitting our leg because if we do hit our leg on this we're already rubbing against the car.Our hitch is a class II, which means it's going to provide us with an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening. This is great for some of those bike racks, smaller cargo carriers or if you're going to do some light duty towing. But regardless of how you're going to be using your hitch, all of the accessories you're going to use are going to mount to the hitch pinhole here on the side. The hitch is going to accept a standard half-inch pin and clip. These are not going to come with the hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure, in anti-rattle devices to cut down on the annoying rattling sound when we're driving down the road.If you do plan on doing some towing, obviously you're going to need a spot to hook up your safety chains. more

Speaker 1: Here on this 2014 GMC Terrain, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number E98865. Here's what your hitch looks like installed. First thing you'll notice about the hitch, is how it's completely hidden behind our fascia. The only part that's visible is the center section here and our bumper cut out.One of the nice features about this hitch is that it has a nice carbide powder coat finish, which is very appealing to look at, and is also very rust, corrosion, and scratch resistant. As you can see here, I'll take a key to it, rub against it, doesn't even do anything to the hitch. On the side of our receiver, you'll find the industry standard, 5/8th of an inch diameter hitch pin hole, to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. more

You can pick up a pin and clip separately on our website, as part number PC3.Closer to the rear, that is a J-pin stabilization hole. What that does is take away the annoying shake, play and rattle out of what is inserted in your receiver. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class III Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028.So here's what our hitch is going to look like. We are going to have to remove that access door in the lower section of our bumper here and mainly all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. It's going to be pretty well hidden by the rear bumper here, so that cross tube is going to be tucked up out of the way.Now it is a Class III hitch which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and have a wide variety of accessories available like ball mounts, bike racks, or cargo carriers. The way we're going to mount all of our accessories is through the forward hole here, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. While those aren't included in our kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com using part number PC3.Now the secondary hole towards the rear of the vehicle here is going to be used exclusively for the J-Pin stabilization device. It's going to have a standard 5/8 section here that's going to go into our hitch pin hole, and this smaller section is going to come into the receiver tube and once we apply the hex nut on the other side, it's going to apply pressure to our accessory. more
