And that's exactly what we're doing here today, on our 2019 Kia Sorento. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the REDARC Tow-Pro Elite proportional brake controller. And in conjunction with the REDARC brake controller, we're gonna be installing the Tekonsha OEM replacement vehicle wiring harness with a brake controller adapter plug as well as a seven-way connector. more

We're going to be installing that in conjunction with the Redarc Universal Adapter Harness, as well as the ETBC7 kit. So we get these Sorentos in the shop quite often, and believe it or not, people seem to do a little bit of everything with these. more

Hi there, Kia owners. Today on your 2016 Kia Sorento, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller. And this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. It's mounted underneath our dash here, which is plenty fine because this can be mounted in a positive, all the way to negative 90 degree angle. So that's a whole 180 degrees of rotation. We're plenty within that here. more

Now we're going to be installing this in conjunction with the Tekonsha OEM replacement vehicle wiring harness with a seven way and brake controller adapter plugs.So this is going to be a really good, reliable, simple to use brake controller and should work out really well for those of you that really don't plan on towing many different types of trailers. It's going to give us the basics, but yet still provide us with some really nice features. It's going to be a proportional style brake controller. more

To help us get that installed, we're going to be using part number ETBC7.This is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. What sets this apart from other brake controllers is the flex screen and the flex control are separate. So you have the ability to mount them in different locations to suit your needs. Now like most brake controllers it's going to give you the same functions. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Kia Sorento- Video
Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount trailer brake controller, part #HM47297 and we're going to use it in conjunction with the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part #ETBC7. So here's what our brake controller looks like fully installed. It's going to be a three piece system compiled of our display here, our flex control box right here and finally the Smart-Box, which I have mounted under our dash. Now how this is going to be different from most traditional brake controllers is this is going to be a three piece system, so it's going to be very versatile and you're going to be able to mount these almost wherever you want. Now this is a proportional brake controller. What that means is, it's going to activate our trailer brakes based on how hard we're activating our brakes in our vehicle and since it's not a timed delay, there's not going to be any pause or delays. It's going to take the adjustment and send it to our trailer based on how fast or how slow we're coming to a stop. more
