Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Ford Edge- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Ford Edge, we will be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller, part number 5504.To ease our installation, we will be using the ETBC7 Installation Kit as well, along with the Draw-Tite Replacement Brake Control Plug-in Harness. The Brake Controller's part number 20127.Now, my favorite thing about this, the sync feature is very nice. It will really let you dial in to almost make it like a proportional brake controller, but give you the benefits that a time-delay controller offers.Now, this brake controller is a nice, time delayed unit that has more features than some of the cheaper models, but yet this is still a very affordable unit to get for your vehicle. What a time delayed brake controller does over proportional brake controller is, any time your foot's on the brake pedal, the brakes are applied on your trailer even if you're not moving. This is great for if you're using your brake controller on an off-road style trailer.Now, this brake controller has three functions on it that you need to concern yourself with. Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2016 Ford Edge- Video

On this 2016 Ford Edge, we're going to review and install the Tekonska Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller, part number 90195. Now to help us with our install, we'll be using a couple additional part numbers. We'll be using ETBC7, that'll provide our 7-pole connector out the back of the vehicle, and our connection up front up to the battery and for our brake controller. Also to help us mount our 7-pole connector at the back, we'll be using part number 18136, the universal mounting bracket. This is what the P3 brake controller looks like when it's installed on our Ford Edge. We have this in a typical location right here. Now you can move it anywhere you like, as long as it's in easy reach of it when you need to use it. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Ford Edge- Video

Today on our 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at in installing the Hopkins InSIGHT Flex-Mount Trailer Brake Controller. Part number HM47297. In conjunction with the universal installation kit for trailer brake controllers, part number ETBC7. We're using part number 18136 which is a long no drill mount bracket. A feature of this one that a lot of other brake controllers don't have is that it has three separate components: the read out, this little control box right here, and then also the brake controller box itself. You can mount these just about wherever you'd like. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Ford Edge TK90160- Video

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller, part number TK90160. To install it on this vehicle we'll be doing it in conjunction with the etrailer Brake Controller Install Kit, part number ETBC7. First, we can look at the LED display here on our brake controller. As you can see, it has 1 red light indicating that it has power. Next, we'll go ahead and connect our trailer and test our brake controller. As we connect our trailer, you can see it comes up with a "C" indicating that we are connected. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2011 Ford Edge 90885- Video

Today on 2011 Ford Edge, we're going to be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller. This controls 1 to 4 axles, and it is proportional. The part number on it is 90885. To do our install, we're also going to be using part number ETBC7. This is going to be the wiring for our brake controller, and part number 18136, which is going to be a no drill bracket mount. Here's what your brake controller is going to look like once you've got it installed onto your Edge. What these allow us to do is fine tune the amount of braking force that our trailer is going to exert as opposed to some of the older styles that used pressure or friction when you stopped or we're trying to back up to apply the brakes. This gives us a manual override here to where we can apply our trailer brakes before we've even hit our vehicle brakes, and as you'll see her, it's fully adjustable up and down to give us the appropriate braking force. more
