Hayes Energize III+ Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Energize III brake controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. How a brake controller works is when you have a trailer with electric brakes, this control is gonna send a signal from up here back to your trailer to letting you know to stop. So today we have a proportional one. So how that works is if you press down either light or hard it's gonna match that on your trailer as well. The energize III brake controller is gonna be great for hauling those trailers with one to three axles. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Synchronizer Trailer Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So what a brake controller does is when you press down on your brakes in your vehicle, this is gonna send a signal all the way back to your trailer that has electric brakes on it, then press its brakes. Now, today, we have a time delayed one, so that's not gonna be like our proportional brake controllers. How it differs is a proportional brake controller, when you press down on the brakes, if you press down hard, it's gonna press down hard on your trailer's, and if you press down light, it's gonna press down light on your trailer brakes. While this is gonna work a little bit differently, and it's not gonna provide you as smooth of a ride. more

Hi Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Curt Echo Under-Dash Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This is gonna be a great option if you're looking for something to kind of help you haul anything. How it's gonna work is if you have any electric brakes on your trailer, this is gonna send a signal back to it and help your trailer brake some more. And what's nice is this is gonna be a proportional one so however hard you push on the brakes is gonna send that same amount of force to your trailer. With this particular brake controller we have today, it's gonna be able to handle up to one to four axles. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Echo in-line brake controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. What's great about brake controllers, they're gonna be great for when you are hauling any trailers that have electric brakes on them. And especially with this one in particular since it is a proportional brake controller it's gonna help your brakes under your trailer proportionally brake with your brakes on your vehicle. So what that kind of means is if you lightly press the brakes on your vehicle it's gonna lightly press the brakes on your trailer. And this is what it's gonna look like installed on our vehicle. more

Tuson DirecLink Network Enhanced Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 15

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Tucson DirecLink Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. Up top here you can see it's going to revert back to our brake sensitivity and there's gonna be 20 different sensitivity levels, depending on if your trailer is above or below 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating, so you can easily adjust that up and down. (button beeping) And then also we can go to the side here and that's gonna give us our low speed brake. So essentially if you're going at a low speed, you don't have to worry about the brakes fully actuating. This is basically just gonna kind of get you a more smoother braking power whenever you're driving through the city or maybe you're hitting a whole lot of stop lights and you don't really wanna have it slam on the brakes every single time, you can adjust this, get a little bit lower, and then we also have our max brake limit. And so right now I got that just said at 20%, but obviously you could change that as well. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller is one of my favorite options on the market. And the reason for this is simple. With the Echo Under-Dash, everything is gonna be installed behind the dash there. There's no drilling into the dash whatsoever and you're not gonna be sacrificing your leg room. more

Hey, everybody. How's it going Today, we gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller here on our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 So the first step of our installation. We`re gonna take our brake controller we`re gonna come to the rear of our pick-up here find your trailer connector we`re gonna flip open the lid for the seven way portion we`ll make sure the tab on our brake controller is facing up, and then we can simply insert it into the trailer connector pushing it down to make sure it is secure And if the brake control has power, we should see a flashing blue light that lets us know that we don't have a trailer connected I`ll also like to point out that on the particular model you receive you`re going to get a stability strap your safety strap, whatever you want to call it. It basically is just an extra measure of security it wraps around the brake controller and lid on our seven way to give you a little bit of a tighter fit. So now with our brake controller plugged in we`re just gonna grab the seven way on our trailer open the lid on the brake controller and we`ll just press that in there nice and firmly and if everything was done correctly and it recognizes the trailer, we should see a flashing green light. So once we have our trailer plugged in we`re gonna come back inside the vehicle here and you`ll first need to download the Curt Echo App. more

To help us with our installation we're gonna be using the Tekonsha plug in wiring adapter, part number 3016.Here's what our brake controller's gonna look like once we have it installed. The blue light's gonna let us know that it's getting power, however if we apply the brakes it's gonna tell us NC letting us know that our trailer is not connected. Once I hook up my trailer we're gonna have a C letting us know that the trailer is connected. At a quick glance you can already tell if your trailer's hooked up or not.Our Prodigy P2 is gonna be a proportional brake controller and what that means is it's gonna have an internal sensor that's gonna realize how much we're slowing down so when we apply the brakes on our truck it's gonna apply the same amount and at the same time to our trailer. Opposed to time delay brake controllers which are just gonna apply the brakes as soon as you hit the brakes there's gonna be a small pause and then they're just gonna ramp up and apply the brakes to the maximum power. more

Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're gonna be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part number: 90885, in conjunction with our Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers, part number: 3016. Here's what our brake controller looks like installed. We already have a trailer plugged into our truck, so we have a "C" right here, which shows that we have a working electrical connection between the two. If we're trailer we're to ever become unhooked from the back of our truck, or we have an electrical fault, "NC" will be displayed here on the screen to let us know that we have a problem and our brakes on the trailer aren't working. Now, what I really like about this brake controller is that it gives us the functionality in order for us to tow a trailer that has up to four axles, so we can have up to eight electric brakes on our trailer. Also, we have the ability to tow a trailer that has electric over hydraulic brakes with no input required from us at all on the brake controller in order to make the setting change for that to work. It'll happen automatically. more

We have ours hooked up to a trailer right now, and when you're hooked up, you see you get an icon of a truck towing a trailer and it shows your current power output going towards your brakes. Since this is a proportional brake controller and we're in park right now, when I step on my brake pedal, we don't get any power being applied because we're not actually moving. There is no false application of the brakes. You have to be moving in a forward direction with your brakes applied. This brake controller will allow you to tow a trailer up to four axles controlling four sets of electric trailer brakes. This break controller will also allow you to control electric-over-hydraulic brakes without any modifications required to the trailer or your brake controller. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 90885

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part number 90885. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-in Wiring Adapter. That part number is 3016. Here's what the P2 is going to look like when you get it installed in your vehicle. This is a proportional breaking system, so this is going to take the inertia from your vehicle and translate that into breaking power using the accelerometer located inside. So on very quick and abrupt stops, where we're really trying to stop quickly, this is going to go right up to our maximum power rapidly and deliver that braking to us when we need it in an emergency. When we're in city streets and just slowly on and off the brakes just trying to maintain speed, this is going to do it much more gradually, reducing the heat build-up in our brakes and also only using what we need at that time. The "C" here is going to indicate that we've got a trailer connected, so if you see a "DC" come up, it means you've got a disconnect situation. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to install the Tekonsha Voyager. This a proportional trailer brake controller, that will work for 1 up to 4 axles. It's part number is 39510. We're also going to be using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, that part number is 3016. Now the Voyager from Tekonsha is a great brake controller that uses a proportional system to deliver whatever power that you're inputting here at the brake pedal, to the rear of the vehicle. So if we get an aggressive emergency stop, and you really stand on it, this is going to provide more power to the rear. If we're in the everyday traffic to where we're just placing our foot on there just to slow down a little bit, the Voyager realizes that, and it'll slow it down gradually. We've got an adjustment here on the left, that's going to be for our output, or the amount of braking force going to our trailer. more
