Gate King Adjustable Tailgate Support Bars Installation - 2016 Ram 1500- Video
John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com and today we are going to be installing the gate king on our 2017 Ram 1500 pickup. To demonstrate how the gate king works let's first see what our tailgate acts like without the gate king installed. So this operation will be normal with the gate king when we push our tailgate back up in place, that's where the gate king will stop it so we can basically put pressure on anything in the back of our pickup or to hold things up in place. With just our cables here, our tailgate's going to fall down at any angle that we have it at until we put it up back in place. So the gate king's installed now so let's see how it performs compared to how our initial tailgate was working. So we can still operate it like normal down and pushing it back in placebut when we want to use the gate king, pop the pins here and now we can adjust it at different stopping points all the way, depending on what kind of cargo we have in our truck bed. more

Today on our 2016 Ram 1500 we will be taking a look at and installing the Stromberg Carlson 100 Series 5th Wheel Tailgate, part number VGD-10-100. Now this tailgate is going to have many advantages. One is it's going to keep all your items in that you have in the bed of your truck, while still towing around your 5th-wheel trailer or gooseneck trailer and having plenty of turning space. Secondly, it's going to have a black powder coat finish and be fully welded, so it's going to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion as well as stand up against the elements. Not only that, but it's going to help with air flow and wind noise as you're driving down the road. We'll go ahead and pull out on both rings to release the tailgate and then lower it down. Once you put it up into position, we'll pull out on both those rings to release those latches, raise it up, press in, locking our tailgate in place. more

Today in our 2013 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at installing the Stromberg Carlson 100 series 5th wheel tailgate, with open design, part number VGD-10-100. Here is what it looks like once it's installed. You can see it's got a nice black powder coated finish, but it is paintable, if you want to make it match your vehicle for that more custom look. This is a vented tailgate. It's going to allow the air to pass through it freely, helping with wind drag. With the cutout design in here, it'll be easy to load up your 5th wheel or goose neck trailers. You can simply drive your truck right underneath it with the gate up, and attach your trailer. It's going to help with your field of vision from the backside of your vehicle, so you can see what's behind you a little better. In this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Stromberg Carlson 4000 Series 5th Wheel Louvered Tailgate, part number VGD-10-4000. As you can see, we already have our original tailgate removed, so we'll go ahead and jump right into it and install our new tailgate. This tailgate is pretty lightweight, but if you need another person to help you out, by all means, go get them, because this can be kind of awkward. Go ahead and start off with the driver's side end, install that onto that. Go over to the passenger's side, match it up with that notch there, like so. Make sure our straps here, we'll slide them onto the bolts up to the side here, like so. We'll do that for the other side as well. more
