Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger- Video

Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2014 Dodge Avenger

Today on our 2014 Dodge Avenger, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FatCat 6, a Locking Rooftop Ski and Snowboard Carrier with a 6 Ski or 4 Board capacity. Its part number is Y03088. With our Rhino-Rack 2500 Roof Rack System already installed on our Avenger, we're going to begin our test fit by grabbing the front half of our carrier, and placing it onto our front load bar. We'll bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside of our load bar, fit it into the foot of the carrier, press the black button on the end of the carrier to open our top jaw, where we will reach inside and lift the black lever. We can then cam our buckle closed, give the black lever a few turns to tighten it, and push it down to engage our catch. We'll now make our way over to the driver's side and repeat the same tightening process that we used for the passenger. With the front half of our carrier secure, we'll now grab the rear half, place it onto our rear load bar. Again, bring the black rubber coated metal strap around the underside of the bar, place it into the foot of the carrier. more

We'll bring the black rubber-coated straps around the underside of our load bar and fit it back into the foot of the carrier. We'll then press the black button on the end of the carrier. This will allow us to open the top jaw where we can reach inside and lift on the black lever. We'll cam our buckle closed, give the black lever a few turns and push it down to engage the catch. We can now move over to the driver's side and repeat the same tightening process that we used on the other side. The front half of our rack secure, we'll now grab our rear half, place it onto our load bar, take a quick look to be sure that we have both halves in line with each other. Then we can repeat the tightening process that we used on the front. We're now ready to load our gear. more
