Today on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima CBX Rooftop Cargo Box. This cargo box is huge. It's pretty big, so if you have a bigger vehicle like the 4Runner, it's gonna be a great option for you. But if you do have a smaller car, we put it on a RAV4 and it looked a little out of place because it was massive compared to a smaller compact SUV. We also have a 16 cubic foot one available as well. So it'll be a little bit shorter. more

So this is going to be a 16 cubic foot rooftop box that's kind of a middle of the road size great for some sedans and SUVs and it's going to be a really versatile one too. When it comes to rooftop boxes they're great for a number of things whether you go for the ski and snowboard side of things or camping gear, luggage, that sort of thing. And depending on the shape of the box they might lend themselves better to those activities. more

Now a roof box is gonna be a great way to get some extra stuff with you on your trip so you don't have to carry it in your vehicle. In particular, this kind of roof box where it's a bit lower and longer is gonna lend itself pretty well to things like skis and snowboards. Rhino-Rack MasterFit Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today, we'll be taking a look at our Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Box, this is the MasterFit, that's 18 1/2 cubic feet, and we'll see how it fits on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner. So you have your 4Runner and you're ready for adventure, but what if you need to carry around your other sports equipment, maybe you have extra long skis or snowboards or other gear that you would rather not have to store inside your vehicle That's where the MasterFit can come in handy. So compared to some of your other boxes, this is gonna be more sleek, more low-profile, more aerodynamic, but then, you also don't have as much height for your cargo capacity. Another thing with this is when you have your extra large boxes, you'll be concerned about hatch clearance, this one just barely makes the cut, but it works. So yes, I know with your 4Runner if you need to access your hatch, you can just lower the hatch window, but what if you need to open up the hatch door So with this box isolated as far forward as it can go on the track system, the crossbars are as far forward on the raised rails as they can get, and lifting this hatch, you can see it goes all the way up, and then at the very top, it just barely touches the box, but there's no weight on it. And if you're concerned about garage clearance, measuring from the top of our roof to the top of the roof box, it is gonna add 21 1/2 inches to the top. more

So, this is an awesome pairing for the 4runner because it's a good blend of cargo space but also not taking up too much space. If you're going on a big trip and you wanna carry around your extra gear like your skis, your snowboards, your camera equipment, you can put them in here but you still have space on the other side for your other cool accessories like your kayak or your bike rack. Thule Roof Box Review - 2015 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2015 Toyota 4Runner we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Force XT Rooftop Cargo Box. The Thule Force XT is a very premium style rooftop cargo box and it is gonna be a very good looking one as well. We're gonna have the black arrow skin which has a nice little texture to it. I like that compared to the glossy just because it doesn't scratch up as easy but this is gonna be a great storage solution for all of the seasons. And this is the biggest box that we carry. The Thule roof box is gonna be designed for a lot of different stuff. more

Toyota 4Runners can carry a lot of passengers. This one is a 2015 Toyota 4Runner and we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Profile 18 rooftop cargo box. This is gonna free up a lot of the space on the inside of your 4Runner, so you can put more people in here, put all their stuff up there, so it is a nice spacious ride. There's a couple of features that I look for in a box and one is the locks. So we do have locks on this one. You don't have to worry about buying 'em separately, they come with the kit, and it is gonna open on both sides. more

Inno Shadow 16 Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer.com and today we are looking at our Inno Shadow 16 rooftop cargo box here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. This rooftop cargo box has a weight capacity of 110 pounds and 13 cubic feet of cargo space. So this is awesome if you need an extra storage space for bringing your gear like your skis or your snowboards or even just your luggage for when you want to go out and have a great adventure. This has a safety lock system, so one, you can lock it in place so no one can steal the contents of your box. Also, though, if you have it unlocked you can't remove the keys. more

Yakima Roof Box Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
So today with the 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima Skybox low rooftop cargo box.So this box is gonna allow us to carry gear on the roof of our vehicle. Very similar to a roof mounted basket, except for the box is enclosed. It's gonna keep our gear out of the elements.Now this box has a low profile design, this is what's different about it compared to some of the other boxes out there, it's dimensions are about 92 inches long, 36 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches tall.So it's not gonna be that great for stacking gear on the inside, but it'll be great for those smaller gear items, maybe like skis or snowboards. Now it's gonna, excuse me, it's a universal fit, so it's gonna mount to your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems. I've got it attached to my after market roof rack system here on my raised rails of my 4Runner.Again, it's a nice tight fit, it's not going anywhere. But when positioning it on your roof, you want to be sure that you've still got enough room so you open up your rear hatch on your 4Runner. more

Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show you how it works.This is a very easy roof box to install into roof rack system. It simply clamps around your existing roof rack system, as you can see here. Right now, we have it around elliptical bars, but this will also work with square, round, arrow, and most factory roof racks as well. You do want to make sure you at least have a 25 to 28 crossbar spread for this to fit properly and how this fits on, we'll show you.Go ahead and open it up. more

Thule Roof Box Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota Forerunner we're doing a test fit of the Thule Flow Rooftop Cargo Box for skis and snowboards. This is going to have 14 cubic feet of space and come in a black color. That part number is TH606. Now this has a total weight capacity of 165 pounds and can carry either six to eight pairs of skis, or two to three snowboards or a combination of the two. We already have most of our box secured down. We're going to show you how to secure the front here. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be doing a test fit on the Thule Force Large Rooftop Cargo Box. That's part number TH628. It measures 74 inches long, 36 inches wide and 16 1/2 inches high. Today on our 2012 Toyota 4runner well be test fitting the Thule Sonic XXL Rooftop Cargo Box in black, part number th636b. Well begin our test fit by placing the cargo box onto the vehicles load bars. Well unlock the box and open the lid exposing the four knobs. Well loosen up the knobs to open up the clamps and then well reposition the box making sure the clamps fit over top of the load bars. With the box in position we can again unlock it and open the lid exposing the two closest knobs. Well then turn the knobs to bring the clamps up around tightly against each bar hearing a click when the knobs have been fully tightened down. more

Well unlock the box and open the lid exposing the four slots. Well take the clamps and slide them down through the slots on top of the load bars. Well then turn the knobs to bring the clamps up around tightly against the load bars. Once everything is all 195242730tightened down and secured, you can see with the Thule Pulse Alpines long design, we cannot have access to the rear hatch of our 4runner. more

This double-opening lid also makes it super easy when loading and unloading your cargo from either side of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, well be test fitting the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box, part number TH615. Now this 16-cubic-foot, matte black finish cargo box features a low-profile design while holding your luggage on top of the vehicle. Now to begin our test fit, well place the box on top of our crossbars. Now weve already gone ahead and passed the clamps through the cargo box, so as we load it youll notice that our clamps are open and well make sure that they go over the top of both the front and rear crossbar. We can then make sure that our box is centered with the vehicle, where well tighten down the gray knobs inside the cargo box, clamping the clamps to the crossbars, securing our box to the vehicle. With all four clamps tight, our cargo box is secured and were ready to load it up. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, well be test fitting the Thule Pulse Medium Rooftop Cargo Box, part number TH614. Now this 14-cubic-foot, matte black finish cargo box features an aerodynamic low-profile design while still being able to carry your luggage on top of the vehicle. Now all well need to do is go ahead and place our cargo box on top of our crossbars, where youll notice that our clamps have already been opened up. Well allow them to slide in and over the AeroBlades that we have on our 4Runner here. Well now go ahead and center the carrier with the vehicle where we can then open the lid and tighten down the four gray knobs, securing our cargo box to the vehicle. Now in place correctly, this box will not interfere with the cargo door. more

Now this 17-cubic-foot, AeroSkin, black in color cargo box features a low profile design and large enough to carry your luggage. This is a very quick installation. All well need to do is place the box on top of the crossbars. It may be a good idea to go ahead and loosen up the clamps and make sure theyre fully open before loading it onto your vehicles crossbars. Well go ahead and use an extra set of hands to help us get it on top of the 4Runner, where well make sure the clamps slide over our Thule AeroBlades. more

Thule Force Medium Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we'll be test fitting the Thule Force Medium Rooftop Cargo Box, part number TH624. Now to begin the test fit, we'll place the box on top of the crossbars. We'll align the clamping hardware over the top of the crossbars and tighten down the gray knob, securing the box to the vehicle. While also securing the box to the vehicle, it also secures the clamp to the box, making this a very quick and easy installation. That completes our test fit of the Thule Force Medium Rooftop Cargo Box, part number TH624, on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner. more
