Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods compact hitch mounted cargo carrier and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now this is gonna be a great way to carry some extra stuff with you if you've maybe run out of space on the inside on a road trip or maybe you're just taking a trip to the hardware store picking up some things like mulch or concrete that tend to rip and make a mess inside the vehicle and you'd rather keep that mess outside where it's easy to clean. You can just hose this off with a hose whenever you get home and you're good to go. A lot easier than vacuuming out the interior of your vehicle. This is gonna be a good way to keep it compact too. more

This is gonna be a hitch mounted carrier that is made of aluminum, keeping it very lightweight and easy to get in and out of your hitch or maybe hang up on the wall of your garage. Coming in at only a little above 20 pounds, but still capable of carrying up to 500 pounds. So pretty impressive capabilities. It's got these long, wide slats for putting all of your stuff on, which leaves the bottom mainly open for any sort of dirt and debris to fall through. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Cargo Carrier for your hitches and seeing how it fits on this 2022 Jeep Cherokee. The hitch-mounted cargo carrier is a great way to carry extra stuff with you, maybe you're taking this out on a road trip and you need somewhere to put everyone's luggage, because inside just isn't enough space, or you've got stuff that you never wanna put inside the vehicle to begin with, things like bags of mulch, soil, concrete from the hardware store, things that tend to rip and make a mess, it's a lot nicer to just keep it out here, and if it does make a mess, you can hose it off when you get home rather than in, vacuuming out the inside of your vehicle. Now, aside from all that, it's going to be aluminum, which makes this a very lightweight carrier, easy to get in and out of the hitch, and very much light enough to just hang up on the wall in your garage for easy storage when it's not in use. A lot of people don't think about that if they get a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, storing it is kind of an afterthought, and a lot of times with the heavier steel ones, they can be a pain to move around, they end up taking up floor space, so hanging on the wall is a nice option. And even though it's aluminum, it can support a weight capacity of 500 pounds, so it's built very strong. more

A cargo carrier is a great way to carry extra stuff with you when you're going on trips or maybe picking something up from the hardware store. Anything messy, things like bag of concrete, mulch, dirt, that's great to put out here, because if it tears, it doesn't make a mess inside your vehicle, this is a lot easier to clean off, most of it's probably gonna fall through the bars, but any dirt and debris left behind can just be hosed off. Or if you're going on a road trip and you need a place for everyone's luggage, maybe the back is too full, you've got a fully loaded car, out here is gonna be the next best place to store those suitcases. You've got a lot of options with this and it really expands the function of your vehicle. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Flint Hill Goods aluminum hitch mounted cargo carrier and seeing how it fits in the back of our 2020 Jeep Cherokee. A cargo carrier, especially a hitch mounted one is a great way to get some extra stuff with you maybe on a road trip or maybe just to and from the hardware store. I always recommend these for things like bags of concrete, mulch, dirt, anything that tends to rip and maybe cause a mess inside your vehicle. These are more than capable of handling some heavy weight and with the open design, any dirt and debris will fall through it and anything that doesn't can easily get hosed off because it's aluminum you don't have to worry about rust and corrosion over time, it's gonna be very weather resistant while still maintaining a nice 500 pound weight capacity which should hold up very well for a long time. There's plenty of points for tie downs here. more

Now this is going to be a good way to just get some extra stuff with you on your trip, whether you don't have room inside for it and you need to get some extra stuff outside, or there's maybe just some messy stuff that we don't want to get inside our vehicle. It's a lot easier to clean up the mess out here by just spraying this off with a hose. It's gonna be a steel construction with this mesh bottom and it can support up to 500 pounds. more

Today on our 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT aluminum cargo carrier.Now one of the things that really sets this one apart from many of the others is that it's made from aluminum, and so it's going to be incredibly lightweight and easy to handle. And if you ever happen to get it muddy or dirty and you need to clean it, rinse off with the hose, you're not going to have to worry about it rusting either.A cargo carrier is going to help accomplish a couple of different things. One, either carry more cargo than we can fit on the inside of our Jeep ,or carry that cargo that we would normally have inside, bring it out here, and free up some space for passengers and pets. And in my opinion too, with the Jeep not being a super wide vehicle, this one's going to look really good in proportion to it.Now it's going to be 49 inches long, 22 and a half inches wide, and 4 inches deep. Now something to keep in mind whenever you're pulling into a tight parking spot or into your garage with a cargo carrier on, it is going to extend the overall length of our Cherokee. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee, we're gonna be a test fit on the Hollywood Racks cargo carrier, part number HR1485. Now, there's a couple of different ways you can use this cargo carrier. Right now we have it as a standalone carrier that you just have into your two inch receiver. You can purchase this as a kit with the Hollywood Racks sport rider SE two bike platform rack and you can add it on to the back of that platform rack so that you can carry your gear behind your bikes separate from the inside of your vehicle.Now, you do have a good amount of space with his cargo carrier. The weight limit for it in this standalone position is 220 pounds. It shrinks down to 100 pounds of weight limit when you have it on the back of your sport rider SE2.But we go 52 inches in our width right there for space. more

Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 x 60 Cargo Carrier, that part number is C18152. This is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a 500-lb weight capacity. We already have this installed on our vehicle, we're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 12-1/2". Overall to our vehicle, we've got about 32". Our closest point is going to be about 7-3/4". On our Cherokee, you can see we have a single driver side exhaust, it does come straight out towards our carrier, sitting about 9-1/4" away, so just keep that in mind whenever you load up your carrier and your gear. You don't want any heat sensitive materials in the region of your exhaust. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the Max Tow 48x21 Cargo Carrier. That part number is MT70422. This has a weight capacity of 500 pounds and works with 2-inch hitches only. While we have it on our vehicle, we're going to start off with a few measurements, ground clearance being first. We're going to have about 9 and 1/4 inches down there. Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 26 and 1/2 inches. Our pull-o-sis 00:00:38 point is going to be about 6 and 1/2 inches away there. Keep in mind that all these measurements may vary, depending on what style hitch you have. The next measurement that we'll do is our hatch. We're going to check that breakover point. more

Today in our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we've got this Stromgberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. We're going to do a test fit on it, see how it fits on our vehicle. This has been designed for use with two inch hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number on it is CC-100. We've got a nice raised edge that's going to go all the way around the outside. It gives us some good attachment points to secure down our load. It's going to be two and three quarters inch off our platform so it's going to give us a little bit of front to back and side to side stability as well. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're test fitting the Maxxtow 21 by 48 Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This has been designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Thanks to the steel shank that's going to run all the way through the middle here, it still offers a 500-pound weight capacity. Part number on it is MT70422. Now you can see we've got a nice aluminum based platform here. It's going to have the six rounds that run through to allow us to lay our gear on there and support it but still has a lot of areas where that can fall down through so we don't have the dirt, water and debris and stuff like that building up on top. Around the outside edge, we've got good places here to attach our safety chains on the front and the back with all four corners so we can get everything secured down to it. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're testing the 23 by 47 Carpod. This is a walled cargo carrier, also folds up against the rear of the vehicle. Part number on it is M2205. Now the Carpod, kind of different from a lot of the cargo carriers that we see. See it's got these nice high sides that are going to go all the way around. It's going to be about 21 and three quarters of an inch raised, which gives us a lot of stability for side to side and front to back loads. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the Detail K2 20 by 60 cargo carrier. It has a steel construction, a 2" folding shank for your 2" hitches only, a 500 pound weight capacity, and it's going to be part number K2HCC602. Also note with this cargo carrier that your hitch pin and clip are sold separately so if you'd like to obtain one you can get it on our website, part number PC3. Let's go ahead and get it fitted onto our Cherokee that we have here today. Insert your shank into your receiver and line up your pinholes. Once you have your pinholes lined up, slide your hitch pin and clip through. We have a new receiver on this vehicle so it makes a little difficult sometimes to get them through if you have new paint and buildup. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista. This is going to be your 20 by 60 cargo carrier with a 2" folding shank, a 500 pound weight capacity, and it will be part number SR9851. This does come with your anti-rattle bolt as well, and if you like to obtain a locking anti-rattle bolt, you can get it on our website. It's going to be part number SR0901 for the Sport Rock locking anti-rattle bolt. Let's go ahead and pull this anti-rattle bolt out of here. We're going to get it fitted onto our Jeep. First thing you'll do is insert your shank into your receiver and line up your pinholes. more

Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the Pro Series Solo cargo carrier. It measures 31 by 47. It's designed for use with 2" hitches and it offers a 400 pound weight capacity. its part number is PS1040100. Now this is a pretty large-sized cargo carrier so it might be a good idea to have two people to install it. But one method I have adopted has been we'll just tilt the shank down towards to opening in our receiver tube, slide it in to where it just catches on the bottom, and then as we lift up on the rear we can push in and it works out pretty effectively. Now we're going to want to line up the pinholes. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the 20x 47 MaxxTow Cargo Carrier, this is designed for use in 2 inch hitches, it offers a 500lbs weight capacity. It's part number is MT70108. To begin the test fit we're going to slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to line up the pinholes here in the rack with the pinhole in the receiver tube. With those lined up we'll take our included 5/8 pin, slide that through and secure it with the clip. The closest point of the carrier to the back of our Jeep, about 4 inches away. The carrier is going to offer us about 8 inches worth of ground clearance and overall we've added about 27 inches to the length of the Cherokee. As we open the rear hatch it does break over the plane of the carrier, let's take a quick measurement to see where that happens. It's right there at about 23 inches. The exhaust in the Jeep exit the driver's side and it is angled back towards the carrier. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be test fitting the MaxxTow 17x50 Cargo Carrier, which is designed for use in 2-inch hitches. It offers a 500-pound weight capacity. It's part number is MT70107. Now to begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank and the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll line up the pinhole in the carrier with the pinhole in the receiver tube. We'll then slide through our 5/8th pin, part number PC3 check our website for more details on that and our clip. Now our carrier is going to offer us about 3-3/4 of an inch worth of clearance here. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the 24" x 60" Surco Cargo Carrier. This is designed for use in 2" hitches and it offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Part number is 52018. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we're going to want to line up the pin hole in the carrier with the pin hole in the hitch tube. We'll then take a standard 5/8" pin and slide that through. We can then secure it with the clip. The carrier is going to be about 1-1/2" away from the back of our Cherokee, so as you can see when we manipulate it and try to get it to make contact we have no interference. more

Rola Dart Folding Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Cherokee we're going to be test fitting the 23 by 56 Rola Dart folding cargo carrier. This is designed for use in 2" hitches. Its part number is 59550. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we'll want to keep an eye through the pinhole here in the side of the receiver tube to see when our threaded hole gets lined up with it. With those in line we'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt. more
