I'm going to show you a few features. How we have our bike connected to our bike rack itself we have a total of 3 straps. We have 2 up top, we have the strap to the side which we call an anti-sway strap, that's going to help prevent it from swinging, damaging your car, or if you have other bikes on your bike rack. Let's go ahead and take off the 2 up top first. We're going to take off our anti-sway strap and if you're loading your bike up you just do it the opposite way. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 TH912XTR- Video

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 TH912XTR

Today, on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we are doing a test fit of the Thule Roadway Hanging Style II bike rack. That part # is TH912XTR. We already have our bike loaded up on our rack. The first thing we are going to do is show you how we strap that down and then we will go over some features of the rack itself. We have two cradles holding our bike in place with 3 straps; 2 on our frame and one is our anti-sway strap in the back. The first thing we will do is remove our straps at the top and then we will remove our anti-sway strap. We can pull our bike off and set it off to the side. Any time that we remove our straps, I always suggest to replace those so you don't lose or damage any of them. With those back in place, we will take a few measurements. The first one is going to be our distance overall with the arms hanging out. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video

Hollywood Racks Traveler Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado we will be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches, Part #HR8500. Let's get started by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver. We'll line up the pin holes, thread in the anti-rattle bolt and tighten it with a quick turn of the wrench and then you can insert the cotter pin on the other side. With the rack in place, you'll see your ground clearance is about 5-1/2 inches. The closest point from the back of the truck to the rack is about 6 -1/2 inches and the overall dimensions added to the back of the Silverado is about 12-1/2 inches. By pulling the pin at the bottom of the mast, you can tilt the rack back and have full access to the back of the Silverado. Next, you can pull the pin at the top of the mast, swing your cradle arms out, reinsert the pin to secure it in place. With the cradle arms extended, the overall length added to the back of the Silverado is about 38 inches. Now we can undo our cradle straps, grab our bike, place it in the cradle, secure out cradle straps and you're good to go. That completes our test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler, Part #HR8500, on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. more
