So over time what's gonna happen is that your cabin air filter inside of your vehicle is working hard to filter out those pollutants. So whether it's pollen, dirt, or even carbon monoxide, you wanna make sure that filters, but after time you are gonna have to switch it out. Now, a lot of times people don't have their filters on their mind. We remember to put fuel in our car, and a lot of new cars even have a reminder on the dash to tell you when to change your oil. But filters, usually are the last things we think about. Now, we may be at the service center and somebody may offer us, "Hey, your cabin filter's dirty. We can replace it for you," but honestly, replacing your cabin filter and even checking it is super easy and there's no need to pay anybody else to do it. more

Now, a cabin air filter is going to do for your car what a furnace filter does for your house. It's going to filter all the air from outside before it comes through our vents so we can make sure that we have the best quality air to breath in. A lot of people might not even realize they have a cabin filter in their car. But most newer cars do have them and checking them and changing them regularly is an important thing because if we get too much dirt trapped inside and get it clogged, it'll build up pressure inside of our heating and cooling system which can cause damage down the road. more

PTC Custom Fit Charcoal Cabin Air Filter Installation - 2018 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the PTC Custom Fit Cabin Air Filter. Here you can see there's quite a bit of difference between our new cabin filter and our old one. Now obviously you can see that our old cabin filter is working because it's actually starting to turn brown, but if we open up the pleats, we can see that there are larger pieces that are getting caught in our filter. Which, if those larger pieces get past the filter and make their way into our cooling system, it can do a lot of damage and cause a lot of back pressure in the system.But with our new cabin filter, it's going to make sure that it filters out all those particles and allergens in the air so we can have fresh air, make sure it's healthy when we're inside of our RAV4. Now the real big difference between the one we pulled out and the one we're going to put in, is that the new one is actually a charcoal filter, so it's going to do a lot better with filtering out odors, whether it's smoke or exhaust fumes, than the standard white media filter.Whenever we're driving down the road, car maintenance is typically one of the last things we're thinking about. Usually people remember, "Oh, I need to get my oil changed, and I need to fill up with fuel," but their cabin filter's one of the last things on their mind. more
