How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the JetStream Roof Rack System on our 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. Adding a roof rack to the top of your Silverado is gonna help solve the issue of getting those bigger bulkier items on the road with you without taking up space inside the vehicle or in the bed. When you add a roof rack system like this guy right here, it allows you to use roof baskets, roof cargo carriers, or kayak or bike carriers. You open up your options using this negative space on top of your truck. The JetStreams are an aero style crossbar, so it's very similar to an airplane's wing and what that does for you, it helps reduce the wind noise you experience. On the top, you can see that you also have a rubber strip that's gonna allow you to access your T track channel where you can plug in your accessories, tighten them down without having to trim to size. more

Demco SBS Wireless Coachlink Installation - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at installing the Demco Wireless Coachlink on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. So the reason we're gonna be installing the Wireless Coachlink is when our neighbor installed their Stay In Play Duo, they went with a kit that has the LED lights for the indicator, which is a fine way to indicate that the brakes are being applied. So we had that installed on our rear view mirror. You can see when I pressed the brake, that is gonna light up. And that's not a bad solution. more

Hayes Energize III+ Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Energize III brake controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. How a brake controller works is when you have a trailer with electric brakes, this control is gonna send a signal from up here back to your trailer to letting you know to stop. So today we have a proportional one. So how that works is if you press down either light or hard it's gonna match that on your trailer as well. The energize III brake controller is gonna be great for hauling those trailers with one to three axles. more

Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Synchronizer Trailer Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So what a brake controller does is when you press down on your brakes in your vehicle, this is gonna send a signal all the way back to your trailer that has electric brakes on it, then press its brakes. Now, today, we have a time delayed one, so that's not gonna be like our proportional brake controllers. How it differs is a proportional brake controller, when you press down on the brakes, if you press down hard, it's gonna press down hard on your trailer's, and if you press down light, it's gonna press down light on your trailer brakes. While this is gonna work a little bit differently, and it's not gonna provide you as smooth of a ride. more

Look, if you're ready to flat tow your Chevy or if you're just looking for a little bit more security then take a look at Roadmasters Remote Battery Disconnect Switch that we've installed on our 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71. Now I do wanna let you know right off the bat that if you have a diesel engine this disconnect's not gonna work for you. Those engines have too much of a startup amp surge with them. So this one's rated okay and it's rated for the gas motors. If you have the 5.3 or the 6.2. more

Connor: Hey guys, how's it going Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect here for our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. So the battery disconnect is going to be one of the needed components to flat tow our vehicle here. Keep in mind, it's not required for every vehicle, but it is here for our Chevy Silverado 1500, which is why we have it installed. So according to our owner's manual, when our vehicle is in tow behind a motor home, the battery needs to be disconnected so we don't have to worry about any electrical draw from our other components, which would then in turn kill the battery, and then we'd have to jump it when we arrive to our destination.So how this works is we insert our key into the ignition here. Right now, our switch in our system is disengaged. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado. And keep in mind, it's only one component of several that we going to need for a full flat tow setup. The first one we're going to need is going to be our base plate. That's going to be the connection point on our car so we can safely tow it down the road. The next brand of tow bar, that's what's actually going to connect our base plate to the motorhome. We'll need safety cables, tow bar wiring, and finally a braking system.Now, if you want to tow your Silverado behind your motorhome so we can take it out, maybe go to dinner, have a little bit easier time driving this and driving that big motorhome around. more

Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be showing you how to install the Roadmaster battery disconnect switch for towed vehicle with supplemental braking system. Part number is RM-766.Now the need for an auto battery disconnect on the Silverado comes from the tendency for the battery to drain while we're flat towing the truck. This gives us a very quick and easy solution to go from tow mode, which is going to separate the connection in our positive battery cable, de-powering the entire truck, right into drive mode where we re-establish that connection. So we no longer are going to have to worry about trying to remove the battery cable or having one of those big switches underneath the hood that we constantly have to remember to switch back and forth.When we're ready to tow, we'll hit tow. When we're done flat towing and we're ready to start driving our vehicle, simply switch it into drive.Now to mount our battery disconnect, we want to keep it down somewhere kind of out of the way so we're not going to be bumping into it as we're working on our truck or something like that.We we're going to be going right underneath the coolant overflow tank here. We'll start by pulling these two hoses off. more

Today on our 2017 Chevy Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite I-Command Proportional Trailer Brake Controller, part number 5535. To help us with that installation, we're also going to be using the Tekonsha adapter, part number 3016. This is what our Draw-Tite I-Command Brake Controller looks like when it's installed. This is going to apply brakes to your trailer. It's also going to relieve the stress on your vehicle's brakes when you are pulling a trailer. This is going to be a proportional braking system, which means it's going to match the amount of pressure you're putting on your vehicle brakes. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3016- Video
Today on this 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crewcab, we're going to install the Prodigy P3 trailer brake controller, part number 90195 from Tekonsha. To help us with our install, we're going to use part number 3016. This is the Tekonsha plug in wiring adapter for electric brake controllers. We're going to start off with that part first. This will actually plug into a port underneath the dash on the left hand side. There's a box that has a lid on it, just behind the parking brake. more
