Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at our Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier here on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So this is an option for you for when you wanna create a little bit more cargo space, but you also want it slightly enclosed. So let's say you have your firewood here, you have your cooler here, but even if you have your slightly more valuable items in your cargo carrier, with the lockable functions that this has, this allows you to both carry it, keep it out of your Jeep Wrangler, but also try to lock it, so that people don't get to it. We'll take a look at how this works with our Wrangler, but first off, this is kind of a short cargo carrier, so you will need to use this with a hitch extender, which we already have on our Wrangler, that's because we need to clear that spare tire while also give ourselves a little extra clearance, so I'll give you the height measurement for that extender later just so you can see how it works with you and your own equipment. So we'll take some measurements first, because this is on the larger side for our cargo carriers. So it is a 23 by 47 inch long cargo carrier, we have the lid, we have this strap holding that lid into place, and that's what this kit comes with. more

Today on our 2019 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at the CURT aluminum cargo carrier.Now one of the things that really sets this one apart from many of the others is that it's made from aluminum, and so it's going to be incredibly lightweight and easy to handle. And if you ever happen to get it muddy or dirty and you need to clean it, rinse off with the hose, you're not going to have to worry about it rusting either.A cargo carrier is going to help accomplish a couple of different things. One, either carry more cargo than we can fit on the inside of our Jeep ,or carry that cargo that we would normally have inside, bring it out here, and free up some space for passengers and pets. And in my opinion too, with the Jeep not being a super wide vehicle, this one's going to look really good in proportion to it.Now it's going to be 49 inches long, 22 and a half inches wide, and 4 inches deep. And that's going to be part number MT-70-275.Now this is a nice, basket-style cargo carrier that's going to be nice for your wheeled accessories, such as scooters. With the ramp down, you would simply just drive your scooter straight up onto our platform, strap it down, and then you're ready to go. As far as the ramp, it's going to be 60 inches long. However, we are going to see that from the start of the ramp to the outside of our vehicle, there's going to be some space there. So realistically, to open your ramp all the way up, you're only going to need about 48 inches of space right there. more

Today on our 2017 Jeep Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24 x 60 Cargo Carrier, that part number is C18152. This is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a 500-lb weight capacity. We already have this installed on our vehicle, we're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 12-1/2". Overall to our vehicle, we've got about 32". Our closest point is going to be about 7-3/4". On our Cherokee, you can see we have a single driver side exhaust, it does come straight out towards our carrier, sitting about 9-1/4" away, so just keep that in mind whenever you load up your carrier and your gear. You don't want any heat sensitive materials in the region of your exhaust. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. That partner is C-C dash one zero zero. This is designed to work with two inch hitches only, it has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. I'll note while it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is lightweight so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. The first thing we want to do is take a few measurements here. The bottom of our bolt, we're going to have about 11 inches. Overall to our vehicle, we're adding about 28 and a half inches, and our closest point is going to be about four and three quarter inches away. Now on our Grand Cherokee, we do have a single passenger side exhaust. more

Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches only and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Although it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is very lightweight so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. It is also made out of an aluminum so it's pretty durable as well. Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Jeep Compass- Video

Today on our 2016 Jeep Compass we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is CC-100. Now this is designed to work with 2" hitches only and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Now although it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is very lightweight so it's easy to take out of and put into your hitch. We're going to start off with our ground clearance here. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video

Today on our 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the CURT 20 by 48 cargo carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this is designed to work with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and has a 300 pound weight capacity. Although it does have a weight capacity, it is very lightweight so it's easy to insert and take out of your hitch. First thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here. Starting off with our ground clearance, we're going to have about 17-3/4". Now that is because we have a raised shank in back which is going to lift our carrier even higher than our hitch. more

Today on our 2016 Jeep Renegade we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. That part number is CC-100. Even though it does have that high weight capacity, it is still going to be on our lighter weight end of our cargo carriers, so it's going to be easy to move around, put in and out of your hitch if you need to. Today on our 2016 Jeep Renegade we're doing a test fit of the MaxxTow 48 by 21 cargo carrier. That part number is MT70422. Now this has a 500 pound weight capacity and works with 2" hitches. Now even though it does have that high weight capacity, it is made of aluminum it is made of aluminum so it is very lightweight. Today on our 2016 Jeep Cherokee we're doing a test fit of the Max Tow 48x21 Cargo Carrier. That part number is MT70422. This has a weight capacity of 500 pounds and works with 2-inch hitches only. While we have it on our vehicle, we're going to start off with a few measurements, ground clearance being first. We're going to have about 9 and 1/4 inches down there. Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 26 and 1/2 inches. Our pull-o-sis 00:00:38 point is going to be about 6 and 1/2 inches away there. Keep in mind that all these measurements may vary, depending on what style hitch you have. The next measurement that we'll do is our hatch. We're going to check that breakover point. more

While we have it here on our vehicle we're going to start off with a few measurements. Our ground clearance is going to be first. To the bottom of our carrier here we're going to have about 15". Overall to our vehicle we are adding about 34". more
