Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ram 1500 TS02G- Video
John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today we have our 2019 Ram 1500 and we are test fitting the Kuat Transfer 2 bike rack. This is designed for one and a quarter inch and two inch trailer hitch receivers and it's a great way to get our bikes to our favorite destination without loading them into our rear bed or tossing them on top of our cab with a roof rack.This is designed to hold up to two bikes weighing 45 pounds each, we can accommodate a tire width of up to three inches, a max wheel base of 47 inches. Your wheel base is from the center of one axle to the center of the other axle, and then it can also accommodate entire wheel diameters of 20 to 29 inches. The Transfer 2 comes in gray as you see here with part number TS02G, or black with TSO2B. So you do have options there, depending on the color of your vehicle you might want to pick a different color.One of the things I really like about the Transfer 2 is that there's no bike frame contact. more

This is going to be able to hold up to two bikes and one of the main features, it's going to allow you to tilt with your bikes installed. You just pull this blue little lever down there and that's going to allow you to open your tailgate. We do have some contact here with our bike which isn't going to allow you to fully open your tailgate, but if you do need to grab stuff, you can lift it to about this position before you make any contact there.This is going to hold two different bikes with no frame contact, which is going to be very nice for all your higher end bikes. more

This is going to be a bike rack that's going to be able to hold up to four bikes, but it is going to be limited to only fork style front suspension bikes. It does have a couple different features that makes it very unique. One of them being is you can tilt these with the bikes installed, which is very, very nice to have, especially with this truck.We do have plenty of clearance down here. It is somewhat close to the spinal lip, but I was jumping on this tailgate earlier and it's not going to get any closer, and it's not going to make any contact, so you can go ahead and grab whatever you need out of the bed of your Ram.While it's down here, I can show you how this really mounts your bike onto the rack. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at Thule's Helium Pro Hanging Style Bike Rack on our 2019 Ram 1500.This is going to be able to hold up to two bikes with three different tie down points per bike. You're going to have two zip tie style straps up top, and an anti-sway cradle down at the bottom. What that's going to do, it's going to limit that bike-to-bike contact that you get when you're going down the road.It's fairly simple to remove your bike from the rack. You just got to press in these little pins right here, and if you notice there is a nice rubber texture to the inside of the strap, it's going to protect that top part of your frame whenever you have them all strapped down. And you do have a nice rubber insert right here with these little divots, which is going to make room for your bike cables just so they're not smashing up against your frame when you're going down the road. more

Today on our 2017 RAM 2500 we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider 2 Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That part number is HR1000. Now we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the middle and remove our pins and clips. You may have to move the bike rack around just a little bit to get that to come loose, but with those removed we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Unfortunately we're not going to be able to open our tailgate all the way, it would make contact with our pedal, but if you can move your pedal out of the way you will be able to gain that access. more

Today on our 2017 RAM 2500 we're doing a test fit of the Soft Ride Element Parallelogram hanging style, four bike rack. That part number is SR26248. Now we already have our bike secured down. First we're going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come to the side here and we have a T-pin, we're going to pull that out and we're going to be able to tilt our bike rack, with our bikes fully loaded, away from our vehicle. Now this is a great feature of this hanging style bike rack, because not many others can actually do this, with the bikes still attached. So, unfortunately, we're not going to gain full access into our truck bed because we would make contact here on our bike rack with our tailgate. But if you want to have somebody hold this and gently set it down on your bike rack, you can gain some access back there. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500, we're doing a test-fit of the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack. That part number is: HR200. Now we all ready have our bike secured down. We are going to show you how we secure it first. We have two cradles in place with hook and loop straps at the front and back tire, those are quick and easy to remove and it's just a little bit of extra security to make sure that our bike stays in place. In the center here we have a frame hook, this is going to hold our bike down into our wheel cradles. We're just going to remove this top one first, then we'll squeeze the two pinch points 00:00:45 together, then pull that up, and then we would just pull it straight down to tighten it. We'll take our bike off, we can set this off to the side, and we'll take a few measurements. First is going to be overall what we our adding to our vehicle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2009 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 series quad cab we'll be doing a test fit for the Touly T2 Pro platform style full bike rack. That's part number TH9034-9036. Now I've already got the bike rack and the bike loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it's going to look like and how it's going to secure our bikes. It actually secures our bikes in two spots. We have this rear-wheel strap going over our rear wheel keeping that in place, then for our front wheel we have a large wheel hook going over the front wheel putting down pressure into the wheel cradle here. All in all no frame contact with this bike rack. One of the best features is we can tilt it away with all four bikes loaded to gain better access to the rear of our truck. We'll come back here to this easy use handle. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500 th9029xt- Video
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-bike rack, Part Number TH9029XT. As you can see, we already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a look at how we actually attach it to it. There's going to be three points of contact with your bike's frame. There's going to be two straps up top here and one strap out to the side here which is going to act as an anti-sway strap, keeping it from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike racks or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. Now once you've removed the straps, it's always a good habit to actually put the straps back into place. You don't want them flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. All right, now with it like this, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements that will help you get a better idea of how far this actually sticks out from your vehicle once the bike rack is installed. more

Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Roadway 2 Bike Rack, part number TH912XTR. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look, and see how that's done. We're going to have three points of contact with the bike's frame to hold it in place. We're going to have two straps up top, here, and one strap off to the side, which is actually going to be an anti-sway strap to keep it going back and forth, possible hitting the bike rack, or the bike in front of it. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500- Video
Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XC2 Bike Platform Style Bike Rack, part number S64650. As you can see, we have the bike already installed, go ahead and go over how it attaches to the vehicle. In this case there is only going to be one point of contact, and that's going to be the frame hook up here. To loosen that up there's this button off to the side, you push that in, and it'll lift the frame hook. When you're doing this, you always want to keep one hand on the bike, so it doesn't fall forward and hit the vehicle. To put it into place, it'll ratchet into place. Let's go ahead and lift the bike up and out of the way. I'm going to go ahead and given you a couple of measurements here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ram 1500 s63380- Video
Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack number S63380. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack let's go ahead and take a closer look. Now how this bike is actually attached to the rack you're going to have three points of contact, excuse me, four points of contact to the bike's frame. We're going to have three straps up top here plus one off to the side which is going to be kind of an anti-sway strap from keeping it going back and forth possibly hitting the bike rack or even the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it off to the side. With the straps taken off we're going to go ahead and put them back on which is kind of a good practice to get into because you don't want the straps to be kind of flapping around while you're driving and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. Now with that done I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. more

Let's go ahead and take a closer look. How this bike is actually attached, is you're going to have three points of contact to your bike's frame. You're going to have two straps up top and one strap off to the side, which is going to act as an anti-sway strap, keeping it from moving back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bike in front of it. Let's go ahead and remove that and set that off to the side. With straps, it's always a good idea to put them back in place after you take them off. You don't want them flapping around when you're driving. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Trailhead 4-bike rack. It's going to come with an 1-1/4" shank with a 2" sleeve, and it's going to be part number S63380. Let's go ahead and take our shank and insert that into our receiver that we have here today. Once you got it inserted go ahead and line up your pinholes so we can insert our anti-rattle bolt. Once you've gotten that anti-rattle bolt threaded in as far as you can, go ahead and tighten that down with a 3/4" socket. This anti-rattle bolt will help to eliminate a lot of the sway, rattle, or wobble that you may have remaining in your hitch as you can see there. more

Softride Element Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we will be doing a test fit of the Softride Element Parallelogram. This is a 4-bike rack and it comes with either your 2" and an adapter for your 1-1/4" shank. It's going to be part number SR26248. We'll go ahead and fit this on the vehicle. Insert our shank into our receiver. After we get that inserted we'll go ahead and take our bolt, line up our pinholes, and thread that in. more
