Now, this is a tire and wheel assembly, it's ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. The wheel on this is a nice durable, corrosion resistant aluminum wheel, has an open eight spoke design to it, and as you can see, it's a nice glossy black finish with a machine face on the spokes, and then they do a clear coating over the full wheel for excellent corrosion resistance. Now, the diameter on this wheel is 16 inches, the width on just the wheel is six inches wide, the bolt pattern we mentioned is an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern, and if you wanna measure that on a wheel like this that's an even number of lugs, it's pretty simple, because the lug holes are directly across from each other, so all you have to do is pick any hole, measure from the center of that hole to the center of the hole right across from it. On this, it'll measure 6 1/2 inches, so 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. more

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster ST175/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire in a Load Range C. Now, you might notice that this tire might look deformed or damaged, but it looks like this way, because it is a bias ply tire. And I want to explain that bias ply tires, they're an early design of tires back in the '50s and '60s before radial tires became popular in the '70s, and bias ply tires, basically, what they end up doing is they use nylon or polyester cords that run this way, and they're positioned at a 30 to 45 degree angle to the direction of travel. Now, radial tires, which are more popular nowadays, they use an overlapping polyester and then they strengthen it with steel mesh belts to stiffen, stabilize, and fortify the tread, and they run basically bead to bead this way. Now, the bias ply tires like this one, they're great for low speed, off-road applications like agriculture and off-road use, they provide a nice smooth ride on uneven surfaces, and radial tires are likely a superior choice, because if your trailer will spend more time on paved roads at higher speeds, then you wanna use radial tires. more

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Provider ST215/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range D. Now, this radial tire is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life. It's great for highway use, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation, and this tire is bake tested to ensure that the rubber holds up over time. Does use an automotive grade tread, which has the sipes on it, and what the sipes are, is if you look close at the tread blocks, you'll notice those cuts in it, those are called sipes, and what they do is channel water away from underneath the tire to help give you improved traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions. This aluminum wheel with the Eagle Series eight spoke split design in this machine black is durable, lightweight, and rustproof. The automotive grade clear coat is going to protect this wheel against scuffs and scratches, and this aluminum wheel comes with steel inserts in the lug wells, the lug nut wells rather and the inserts are actually pressed into the aluminum and they are going to help prevent those holes from wearing down over time. This is going to ensure that this wheel stays secure to your trailer hub and that you won't have to constantly retorque the lug nuts. I did wanna point out that a valve stem is included with this, along with the cap and this wheel does meet the Department of Transportation Standards and SAE J1204 standards. Today we're gonna take a look at this 17 1/2" by 6 3/4" hub piloted gray solid center steel wheel with the 8 on 6 1/2" bolt pattern and the 1/2" negative offset. Now this wheel's a sturdy steel construction. Now we mentioned it is a hub piloted design wheel and by that what that means is this pilot hole diameter here which is gonna be 4 3/4" in diameter is designed to fit exactly over the ridge on the hub of your axle, so it exactly matches the same diameter. Basically what that means is the wheel is then centered on the hub by this pilot hole. And because it's a hub piloted wheel, the holes, the bolt holes here, they're non-chamfered, they don't have any bevel to 'em. more

And they do use a nice automotive grade clear coat finish on the front, which will protect the wheel from any scuffs and scratches. Other nice feature on the wheel itself is where your lug nuts go, right here in these lug nut wells, they do use steel inserts, and they do that to help keep the wheels securely in place on your trailer hub, prevents the holes from elongating or wearing down when you torque down your lug nuts, so it of eliminates the need for constant re-tightening of your lug nuts. more
