So you're ready for adventure, you're ready to hit the road, but you might have some cargo with you so whether they are skis, snowboards, suitcases, or just other items that you want to bring for your adventures, where do you put all of that You do have different options, you can put it inside your vehicle, but what if they get money with, they get dirty You don't want those inside of your vehicle. You can put them in a rooftop cargo box, just like this. So there's roof baskets, which are open to the elements, and there's rooftop cargo boxes, which are closed. Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at the Yakima DeepSpace 10 ladder rack cargo box right here on our 2021 Toyota Tacoma. So this is an interesting cargo box in that it's not really designed as a rooftop cargo box, you can definitely see those options here at etrailer, like the Yakima CBX, where it's a lot more aerodynamic. So this is a ladder rack cargo box, a little bit different from the rooftop cargo boxes you might've seen around. You can see it's not as aerodynamic, but it has its own special features. This one is super easy to take off and carry into your camp site. Then you have the hard shell tote to keep it on top of your vehicle when you're driving. more

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at the Yakima CBX Rooftop Cargo Box. So it has two different sizes, 18 cubic feet or 16 cubic feet. We'll take a look at the large one, which is the 18, right here, on our 2021 Toyota Tacoma. So this is a rooftop cargo box, but as you can see, we have it here on our ladder rack, on our Toyota Tacoma. So this is the Yakima OverHaul HD, and we have the extra large HD bars. So I was really curious about, was it gonna fit on our ladder rack How much space do we have around it Will it fit around our larger bars So we're gonna take a look in this test fit at the answers to all those questions and just see how it works and interacts with other things on there too. more

Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at our Yakima CVX 18 roof box here on our 2020 Jeep Gladiator. So this is going to be an excellent way, guys. We're looking for something to give us a little bit more car room and really start protecting our items that we don't want to be interacting poorly with any kind of weather, getting them inside our box. Obviously leaving us a ton of room here in the bed of our truck and freeing up a lot of that room inside of our cab, making our trips that much nicer for ourselves. So as the title probably suggests we are going to have 18 cubic feet of storage in here, making it really, really great to go ahead and get a lot of our cargo needs. more

Yakima CBX Solar Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video
What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima CBX Solar Rooftop Cargo Box on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. Well, as you can see, we have a pretty large solar panel on top of the box. It's about 38 1/2 inches long by 14 inches wide, and it's gonna put out five volts. So to put that into perspective, a lotta your phone chargers, your iPad chargers, and your GoPro chargers, they all run off of five volts, and we are gonna have a decent amount of amperages going out. We'll get into that a little later. more

This rooftop cargo box has a weight capacity of 110 pounds and 13 cubic feet of cargo space. So this is awesome if you need an extra storage space for bringing your gear like your skis or your snowboards or even just your luggage for when you want to go out and have a great adventure. This has a safety lock system, so one, you can lock it in place so no one can steal the contents of your box. Also, though, if you have it unlocked you can't remove the keys. more

Right away when you look at it, you see it's different from other rooftop boxes. With these prop rods, it gives you three points of access, so you can throw things in from either side of your vehicle, or just straight up from the back. That means if you're in a tight parking spot, and there's a car right next to you, and you can't quite load up, or you're worried about unloading it, you can just go to the other side. And if you're parked on both sides, then you can go from the back here.Now, you are going to need a crossbar space of 22 inches for it to attach properly. more

But it's going to lack a few features of some of the higher end ones, but I was actually pleasantly surprised when I took this one out. Now, this is a cargo box. Like I said, it mounts to your roof rack. It gives you an enclosed space on top of your Jeep to get extra cargo and other luggage loaded up and away from the elements, because your cargo area might be loaded with all the other stuff that you want to take on your trip. Instead of having to cram it in the back seat, where your passengers might be and taking up their elbow and leg room, you can get them in the box, protected from the rain and the sun, and then you can unload it when you get to your destination.Now, the box has a really nice aerodynamic shape. more

Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com, today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone Cargo12 Rooftop Cargo Box on our 2019 Chevrolet Suburban. So this cargo box is going to be ideal for getting any type of sporting equipment or luggage for around two people. It does have 12 cubic feet of space, so it's going to be ideal for those rather larger items. And it does open up on the passenger side, and the reason for that is. Just imagine if you're going on vacation and you pull over to the side of the highway, your driver's side is going to be next to vehicles going about 65 miles an hour, so having it open up on the passenger side is for your guys' safety, and that's definitely something I am very happy about.So just so you guys know, I did get the skis in here. It is at the deepest part of the cargo box, and it is a very snug fit. more

So this is going to be really, really helpful when you're going on those long trips and you have a lot of people in your vehicle. You want to get as much stuff outside of your vehicle and going with you on the trip as possible, just to keep your passengers nice and comfortable. So with 18 cubic feet, it's going to be really good to fit a decent amount of duffel bags, a couple of book bags, probably won't fit a golf bag or anything like that, skis and snowboards, probably not, but a lot of cargo, like I said, duffle bags, book bags, at any other small carry on items that you might have.So one thing I noticed whenever I was using a cargo box, a lot of them do open up just from one side. This one really isn't fixed whatsoever. more

Collin: Hey everyone, Collin here at etrailer. Today we got a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We're going to do a test fit of the Thule Force XT Sport Rooftop Cargo Box. This is a cargo box that will mount to the roof rack of your Grand Cherokee and it's going to allow you to get any excess cargo or luggage, anything like that, up into an enclosed area on top of your roof and create more space on the inside of your vehicle for your passengers. Now what's really cool about this box is that it's got a very durable ABS plastic construction to it.It's going to be impact-resistant and UV-resistant, so it will protect all the items you have in there. The top has a diamond-textured finish to it and you can kind of feel when I scratch it, you can hear that. more

This box is going to mount to the roof rack of your Tiguan. It's going to allow you to get any excess cargo or luggage, anything like that, out of your vehicle and conserve on space in there, and get it in an enclosed space that's going to protect it from the elements and impacts. Yakima Roof Box Review - 2019 Cadillac XT5- Video
So today 2019 Cadillac XT5, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Skybox Low Rooftop Cargo Box. I've already got it in place just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. This is going to be great for carrying those smaller, elongated items. Things like maybe skis and snowboards. You can still fit a couple of duffle bags in there, but it is low profile as you can see. It's actually about 11 and a half inches tall, 92 inches long and about 36 inches wide, so what it lacks in that height, it makes up for in that width at 36 inches wide, so not a bad set up here. more

Today on our 2016 Acura MDX we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima SkyBox Lo Rooftop Cargo Box.I've already got it in place just to give you a good idea of what it looks like on your MDX. Now with this box it's gonna allow you to free up space inside your MDX for more gear or passengers and pets. As you can see it's a low-profile design. This is gonna be great for skis and snowboards, anything that you're not looking to stack up real high. It's about 11-1/2 inches tall, about 92 inches long, and about 36 inches wide. So where it lacks in that height it makes up for in width. more

Hey guys. Today we're going to be checking out the Yakima SkyBox Low Rooftop Cargo Box. Now this box is going to free up space inside of our vehicle for more passengers and pets so it's going to allow us to carry more gear on our roof. This is a great option rather than having to purchase a trailer hitch and a cargo carrier or hauling a trailer behind us. This way everything is on top of our roof and if we like we can still haul those jet skis or our camper around.A rooftop cargo box is very similar to a rooftop basket, allowing us to carry more gear on our roof. But what's nice about a rooftop box is it's going to protect our gear from the elements. more

Now, this box is going to allow us to get our gear out of our vehicle and free up space for passengers and pets or more gear. Now, the rooftop box is a great option compared to having to use your trailer hitch for a cargo carrier or even a trailer. I've got the silver installed, but it's also available in black. If you can see, we're able to store all that gear inside of our box, without any issues.This is better than having to use a cargo carrier or a hitch or haul around a trailer. Everything is up on top of our roof, within easy reach, and we're always gonna have it with us.Now, very similar to a roof basket, except for this is gonna offer us more security and protection from the elements.Now, its dimensions are 91 and a half inches long, by 37 and a half inches wide, and it's about 18 inches tall. more

Now with it installed, I got it attached to an after market roof rack system that's mounted to our flush mount rails. more

Yakima Roof Box Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner- Video
So today with the 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Yakima Skybox low rooftop cargo box.So this box is gonna allow us to carry gear on the roof of our vehicle. Very similar to a roof mounted basket, except for the box is enclosed. It's gonna keep our gear out of the elements.Now this box has a low profile design, this is what's different about it compared to some of the other boxes out there, it's dimensions are about 92 inches long, 36 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches tall.So it's not gonna be that great for stacking gear on the inside, but it'll be great for those smaller gear items, maybe like skis or snowboards. Now it's gonna, excuse me, it's a universal fit, so it's gonna mount to your round, square, arrow, elliptical and most factory roof rack systems. I've got it attached to my after market roof rack system here on my raised rails of my 4Runner.Again, it's a nice tight fit, it's not going anywhere. But when positioning it on your roof, you want to be sure that you've still got enough room so you open up your rear hatch on your 4Runner. more
