We've got our original filter, which is covered with dirt, debris, insects, all kinds of stuff, and our new filter here is completely clean. So this is going to provide better air flow than what our original one did here, due to all this dirt. And I do like that it's got this small strip of glue here in the middle. Now it's a good idea to check your air filter every once in a while because our filter is going to make sure all the air coming into our engine is clean, it's been filtered and no debris or particles are going to get into the engine, because if it does, it can cause a lot of damage. But having a clean air filter is also going to improve the performance of your CRV. Not only are we going to get better fuel economy, but we are going to have a little bit better acceleration when we're taking off and just overall better performance and it's going to make our engine last that much longer.Now the manufacturer is going to recommend to at least check your air filter every 12 to about 18,000 miles. As you may know, you need a lot of air to move through your engines so that everything is working properly, that you're getting the good acceleration out of your engine, and also good gas mileage, just helps everything to stay working properly in your vehicle. So this is going to trap that harmful dirt, dust, and debris in the pleats of this material rather than it getting into your engine and causing issues.So this is going to be a custom fit for our 2009 through 2014 BMW X5 with the three liter I6 engine turbocharged. Of course, it's not a bad idea to make sure that you check our fit guide here at etrailer.com, put in your year, make, and model and go from there as far as the fit, but it should work for those models, at least.You'll notice that there is this outer layer here, this is going to be a silicone material to help seal this up and make sure that there's no gaps and that everything's going to be air tight so nothings going to be able to find its way around the perimeter of our filter. Now this is going to be the filter in between the outside and our engine to keep out any kind of dirt or debris from getting in there and causing any issues. So by changing this out relatively frequently, we'll be able to improve the overall air flow into our engine and thereby improve our acceleration and the mileage that we get out of our engine as well. This just traps any of that dirt or debris in the pleats of our filter rather than it getting into that engine. Because our filter is going to make sure that all the debris, dirt or any other particles doesn't get inside the engine and cause any damage.But like I said, once it gets full, it's like trying to breathe through a straw that has a piece of paper stuck in the end. There's not going to be enough airflow to get that mileage and power we need. Now I know we've all been in that situation, we'll be at the service center, maybe getting an oil change and somebody offers to change our air filter. more

To be sure that this is going to be a fit for you it's always good to use our fit guide here at etrailer.com and put in your year, make, and model and then go from there but it should fit your Acura RDX.Basically this is just going to trap any kind of harmful contaminants, any dirt or debris, from getting into your engine so that's also going to help to increase the air flow getting into your engine and also therefore, improve your acceleration and mileage that you get out of your vehicle since more air flow just helps those engines work better. By changing this out relatively often we can keep any of that gunk from clogging up and preventing the air from flowing into our engine. Installs pretty easily into your engine's air filter housing. We do have a silicone seal going all the way around the outside to help make sure that we have a nice tight seal between the filter and the air intake box. more
