And this is what our SumoSprings look like when they're installed. It connects between our frame on our vehicle, and then it sits on top of the leaf spring on our rear axle here. And this is gonna help us out in just about every aspect of our rear suspension here. Whether it's smoothing out our ride whenever we hit any bumps, this is gonna help absorb some of that impact. more

Hi there Ford owners, today in your 2020 Ford F-53 chassis motor home. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings for the front axle. And this is what our SumoSprings look like when they're installed. We do currently have our vehicle lifted with the leveling jacks. So you can see that it's a two piece system here, and that's really nice 'cause that means we have unlimited suspension travel here in the front. So if we're driving down the road, and we hit a pretty big pothole, the wheel over here on this side can easily dip down into that pothole and it can separate from this top layer. more

Before we do that, why don't we check them out and make sure that there's something that's gonna work for you. So this is what the SumoSprings are gonna look like once they're installed on your motorhome and very simple concept, but extremely effective. How they're gonna work is the bottom half is gonna get connected to your leaf spring pack, which is part of your factory suspension. The other part or the top of the SumoSpring is gonna be attached to a bracket, which gets secured to your frame. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hi, there F-150 owners, there in your 2020 F-150, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install Timbren rear suspension enhancement system. Before we install our suspension enhancements, we wanna get this just a couple of baseline measurements so we can see how our factory suspension was supporting weight, versus our new suspension is gonna support the weight. So first we're gonna start unloaded, just get a quick idea of how our ride height is. We're at about 40 inches here in the rear, and we're at about 37 and three quarter in the front. So we're gonna go ahead and load it down, recheck those measurements. So now we've got our suspension loaded up. more

Shane: Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2013 Ford F250 Super Duty and I want to walk through how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs for the rear axle. Air Helper Springs are going to provide extra support for your rear axle so your axle is not making up for what your suspension can't handle.Nice thing about having these springs is they can be aired up independently. If we have more weight on one side of the vehicle, we can add a little bit more air in that spring to help support that load on that one side. Now, if you're wanting to make it a little bit easier to add and decrease the pressure in your bags, there are compressors available. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2019 Ford F-150- Video
Hey guys. Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System here on our 2019 Ford F-150. This is what our system is going to look like when installed. As you can see here, we have a nice rubber Aeon spring, followed up with our metal brackets here on the top, which attaches it to the frame. And then the bottom bracket here, which is going to serve as the contact point for the spring.If we take a look at the factory spring that this one replaces, as you can see, there's quite a big difference. The differences are going to be not only the height and how soon it engages, but the material of the spring is also going to be different as well. more

Air helper springs are designed to support load in the back of the vehicle when you add weight. The reason we want that is because as we put weight in the back of our vehicles, it's going to drop the back end. We're putting unnecessary stress on our rear axle because our suspension can't handle the weight. When we do that, we raise the front end, our headlights aim up in the air, not at the ground, we have uneven tire wear because our tires turn in. more

Timbren Front and Rear Suspension Enhancement Systems Installation - 2011 Ford F-53- Video
Hi there motor home owners. Today on your 2011 Ford F53 chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System for the rear axle. Here you can see our two jounce bumpers side by side. Our factory jounce bumper here is significantly smaller than our Timbren, and that's due to this is really just to be there for support when our suspension is fully bottomed out, otherwise this doesn't do anything, it never actually provides any support under most of your normal travel.With our Timbren being much longer it's going to contact the axle much sooner than our factory jounce bumper would, so it can provide support throughout our suspension travel. Because you load it up heavier and you hit those larger bumps, go over those speed bumps and things, our Timbren is going to contact and provide you with that support to help smooth out your ride, and help support extremely heavy loads to take some of that stress off of your suspension.These are direct replacement for your factory jounce bumper. They're going to mount in the exact same location, so you just simply have to remove your old one here and install your new one. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs Installation - 2011 Ford F-53- Video
Dave: Hi there, motor home owners. Today on your 2011 Ford F-53 Chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the front axle. And this is what our airbags look like when they're installed. They replace our factory jounce bumper and they will go in a similar location between our front axle and our frame. There are a little bit slightly further forward, but they're going to perform similar functions, except we're going to get those benefits throughout our suspension travel. Whereas our jounce bumper from the factory really only applies once our suspension has bottomed out to give us that support right at that last little bit of travel.Once you hit the jounce bumper on your factory suspension, you've basically exhausted the travel of your suspension, and it gets really stiff at that point once you're down on that jounce bumper. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today. We're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter, 7,500 air helper springs on our 2014 Ford F250. Now features are one thing, but how the truck is actually going to perform once you have the airbags installed is another. So before I put the airbags on, I put some weight in the truck and drove it around to feel it out. Now that I have the airbags on, I threw the same weight in there and I'm really curious to see how it's going to improve. So why don't we hop in the truck, run through the test scores and see how it does So the first thing that we're going to do is straighten out a little bit here and we're going to go over some bumps to see how our suspension feels.Let me get going here, hit our first couple of bumps and actually right away, I'm pretty impressed believe it or not, these airbags make the suspension feel like it's much more forgiving. more

Now the reason why you might be looking into airbags is because a lot of people use these trucks for a lot of different things. People use them for work, they may tow a trailer full of equipment, or they may have a bed full of gear that they're carrying. Or, you may just use it as your personal vehicle and you have a fifth wheel trailer, camper, or something else that you like to tow on the weekends to spend some time with your family.But once you start putting a lot of weight in the back of the bed, really the back end starts sagging down, we get a really rough ride, and it takes a toll on our truck. more

Rob: Everybody, this is Rob at etrailer.com and today we are in a 2017 Ford F53 Chassis motorhome that we're going to be putting some SumoSpring helper springs on.Now here at etrailer, we get a lot of questions about suspension, especially on motorhomes. Because let's face it, they're really top heavy, they're tall and there's a lot of area for when to catch. They don't typically drive the best and we end up getting tossed around, pushed around on the highway, we're fighting the steering wheel, fighting ruts, and overall just not an enjoyable experience most of the time.Helper springs are going to do a lot of different things to help those and alleviate those problems. It's going to help a lot with the sway and the body roll feeling because it is going to stiffen up the suspension. And it's also going to help absorb a lot of bumps and the jarring feeling we get resonating through the seats. But before we go over some of the features and really see those, we need to get a baseline of how our motorhome drives. more

TorkLift StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade Installation - 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video
Hi there, Super Duty owners. Today in your 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Torklift's StableLoad Suspension Enhancement System. These are available with either a black powder coat finish or stainless steel, and there are two different kits available, depending if you need to drill holes in your overload springs, or if you have preexisting holes in your overload springs. You can use our fit guide to help you determine the appropriate kit to get. But it's always a good measure to just double-check your overload springs and looks for holes.You can see here where our bolt runs down through our overload spring, this is where you're going to want to look to see if you have a hole there or not. If there's no hole, you'll need the kit that comes with a couple of drill bits. more

Hi there, heavy haulers. Today on your 2020 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs. And this is what our airbags look like when they're installed. They're placed between our frame and our rear axle to provide load leveling support for our truck bed. One of the things that's really nice about these airbags is that they have internal jounce bumpers in them. So if you're running at the minimum pressure, you do always have a jounce bumper in there, so your suspension can never bottom out.But you do also have the option to air up your airbags to adjust for how much weight you've got in the back of your vehicle. more

This is what our spring looks like when it's installed. I've got the wheel out of the way because when the wheel's installed, you really won't be able to see in here at it at all even if you get underneath. Our spring is going to be placed between a bracket installed on the frame and a bracket installed on top of our leaf spring. So whenever our suspension wants to flex, the spring is going to compress, assisting our leaf spring and minimizing the amount of oscillations we have. more

We're going to be taking a look at the Air Lift Load Lifter XL Air Springs here for our 2016 Ford F-250.Now, in order to show you the benefits our Air Springs are going to have on our F-250 here, we're going to go ahead and take some measurements for you. The measurements we're going to be taking are from the ground to the top inside edge of our wheel well, with the factory suspension, and our truck completely unloaded.So we're going to do this now for the rear, and we're going to get about 41 1/2 inches. Now we're going to head to the front. For the front, we're going to have about 41 inches from the ground to the top inside edge of our wheel well here.Now that we have our factory suspension unloaded, we have those measurements, we're going to go ahead and place a load in the bed of our truck. And we're going to retake our measurements here, to see how much they changed.Keep in mind, we just have the factory suspension. more

Our Timbren rear suspension enhancement system is going to be an excellent option for a Ford Ranger here. Now this can be used for medium or heavy duty towing. Basically, it's going to replace the factory jounce bumper, as we can see the difference here, hold the two up side by side. So our Timbren spring is going to be a little bit taller than our factory jounce bumper, which means it's going to engage sooner. more

Hi there, F-450 owners. Today in your 2019 Ford F-450 Super Duty, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Firestone's Ride-Rite air helper springs. Our vehicles stock now with no airbags installed. We're going to put some weight into here in a minute, but we're going to give you some measurements first, so you can see how it changes the ride height. We're measuring 43 inches in the rear and 41 inches in the front. We're putting about a 1000 pounds of water in the back of the truck now to simulate a load.And now with all that weight in the back of our truck, it's dropped us down about an inch and a quarter in the back and in the front, it raised us up about a half an inch. more

Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Airlift LoadLifter 5,000 Air Helper Springs for the rear axle on our 2019 Ford F-150. Now, the need for airbags comes in when you're towing a heavy trailer, you have a heavy load in the back or anything that's going to be putting a lot of weight on the back axle of your truck. What ends up happening is we have all that weight that starts pushing down, puts a lot of strain and stress on the rear axle. Not to mention, it's going to end up causing a teetering effect, which will pull up the front end, which means our tires aren't going to be in contact as well, which means our braking and steering is going to be diminished. Plus, our headlights are going to be aiming up, potentially blinding people if you're driving at night.I'm going to go ahead and put the weight of my trailer down on my truck and we'll see how much it actually affects the back end. Now, you can see that it did lower our rear suspension just a little bit. more

Today on your 2015 motor home with an F-53 chassis, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs for the front axle and this is what your new SumoSprings are going to look like when it's installed. These springs are a two piece design. You have a permanently attached upper half and a permanently attached bottom half. What's nice about it being a two piece design is you have infinite suspension travel. Your factory jounce bumper does have infinite suspension travel as well, but you can see here it's much smaller and you only have a top piece. more

We take trips with our family, see places that we've never been before. But one thing a lot of people don't talk about is how our motor home is going to handle. We had a lot of questions here etrailer.com about motor homes and typically it's about the suspension. Because motor homes are going to be a lot more top-heavy, which means when we're going through the road we'll get a lot of sway and kind of rolling feeling or if we're driving down the road we have a big gust of wind, it'll push us to the side and then we end up fighting that steering wheel. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today on your 2013 Ford F250, we're going to be installing Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs.And this is what our airbags look like when they're installed. It's going to sit between the frame of the vehicle and it's going to rest on top of the jounce bumper plate, located right above our axle.Each airbag has its own independent air line going through it, so they can be aired up independently. This is nice if you need to adjust for any uneven loads that may be placed in the back of your vehicle.Each airbag will operate between 5-100 psi. Five is typically used when the vehicle's unloaded. You don't ever want to run it all the way empty, so five pounds is your minimum. more

Rob: Rob here @etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Sumo Springs Front Rebel Helper Springs on our 2016 Ford F53 Chassis Motorhome. Here @etrailer.com we get a lot of questions about Motorhomes, specifically about suspension upgrades because let's face it, if you're new to driving a motor home, or you've been doing it a while, it can be a little bit stressful. The Motorhome's a really big vehicle, there's a lot of area for the wind to catch, which means that we're going to get pushed around. Whether we're driving down the highway and a big truck comes by or a gust of wind, there's a lot of area for it to catch, then we ended up fighting the steering wheel. By the time we get to where we're going, we're going to be exhausted because we're fighting the steering wheel, trying to keep it in the line, not to mention everybody in the back's not enjoying themselves because they're getting tossed around, things are falling off the shelves and everything else.So there's got to be a way to feel more in control and actually enjoy your Motorhome when you go on a trip. So before we do any installation, let's go ahead and take our Motorhome out on our test course and see how it handles. more
