Hi there, Tracker owners. Today in your 2004 Chevrolet Tracker, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit and this is what our diode wiring kit looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. You don't see any of the components that are installed on the vehicle. You only get to see the lights that are working, mimicking our motor home, and that's exactly what this kit is intended to do. It takes all the lighting signals that's on your motor home and it transfers some back to the lights here at the back. The diodes ensure the current only flows in one direction so it can't back-feed into any of the circuits on your vehicle. more

Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Sonic

Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Fusemaster fuse bypass on our 2019 Chevrolet Sonic. We have our switch mounted on this panel right here, that's right in front of our fuse box, on the driver's side. Now, you can see we have a double and a single hooked up, and these are just going to hold the factory fuses in place, so we're not going to have to worry about carrying them around or losing them. Our fuse bypasses are going to come with everything you see here. Will come with the harness, the switch, as well as all the cables necessary to get it installed. Just keep in mind that the double and the single are going to be sold separately. And we have one fuse that actually needs to be pulled underneath our hood and it's actually a low profile ATM fuse. Our Fusemaster is going to use mini fuses, so you will need to pick up an additional mini fuse, so that we can put it into the fuse holder. So if you're new to flat towing or you've been doing it for a while and your tired of crawling under the dash, crawling under the hood every time you want to tow or drive your car, the Fusemaster is going to make it really easy just to flip a switch and hit the road. more

Best 2020 Chevrolet Equinox Flat Tow Set Up

Ryan: Hey everybody, it's Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be going over your best flat tow setup for your Chevrolet Equinox. Now to flat tow your Equinox, we're going to have five main components that are going to be needed. We're going to need a tow bar, a baseplate, safety cables, wiring, and finally, a braking system. Now if I had to recommend one tow bar that would work perfectly with our Equinox, I'd recommend this one here, and this is a Nighthawk Roadmaster. It's going to be extremely easy to use because it's nonbinding, so that's going to allow us to hook up and disconnect very easily without much struggle. It's also going to be very lightweight because it's made from aluminum, and when we're not using it, it can be stored in a closed position.I also like it too, because it does come included with and takes care of the need for our safety cables as well as our electrical cord that runs from our motor home to our six-pole connector here at the front of the vehicle. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster LED bulb and socket kit on a 2019 Chevrolet Sonic. Now whenever you're flat toning your Sonic, it's going to be really important that we have lights on our Sonic matching the ones on our RV.Now there's a few different options on how you can do that. You can do the bulb and socket or you can go with the magnetic lights. Magnetic lights are a way that have been used for a long time, and they do work. But every time we want a tow, we're going to have to set those magnet lights up, run a wire all the way to the back of our motor home, potentially scratching the paint on our car. Let's face it, it's just a hassle every time we want to drive or tow our Sonic, we have to set something up.But with our LEDs, it's going to be a one time installation, and then we just plug our lights in like normal, and we'll have all our signals at the back. more

Speaker 1: Today in this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Fusemaster fuse bypass switch for towed vehicles, part number RM765121.Now, the reason you're going to want a fuse bypass for your Malibu is because when you're flat towing a Malibu behind your motor home, it does require the pooling of two fuses in your fuse box so your vehicle's battery doesn't become depleted. Because the transmission has to be in a neutral position, it can actually run down the battery while the fuse is being pooled. This will prevent you from having to open this cover every single time, remove the fuses, and when you get back to your destination, reinstalling the fuses in order for you to drive the vehicle. With the simple flip the switch down to the tow mode, it's like the fuses we're just renewed because it disconnects the switch. By flipping it up to drive, it's like you reinstalled the fuses because they are now supplying power to the fuse box, and all your accessories will work properly. To begin our install, we're going to locate our fuse box inside the passenger compartment of our vehicle. It's on the driver's side right here underneath our headlights switch. We'll remove our cover by using a flathead screwdriver to get inside this section here and popping it loose, and then our fuse box is behind it.Now, we need to remove our two fuses that need to be removed when the vehicle is in tow mode. We have number 10, which is this one right there, the 15 amp fuse. more

Speaker 1: Today on this 2017 Chevrolet Malibu, we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster tail light wiring kit for towed vehicles with an LED bulb and socket, part number RM-152-LED.Now, the reason you're gonna want bulb and socket wiring for your Malibu is if you're flat towing it, this is your only option as far as lights that are internal. You can't use diodes on the Malibu because it's a variable voltage system that powers incandescent light bulbs. If you wanted not to have that, your other option is magnetic tow lights.Magnetic tow lights, they're kind of a hassle because they actually can scratch the surface of your paint, and you have to find a place to store them when you're not using them. Bulb and sockets, especially these being LED, you don't have to worry about replacing the bulb. They should last the lifetime of the vehicle for you. So it's one less thing you have to worry about. It's a separate bulb from what your vehicle uses from the factory. more

It's going to keep any kind of back feeding or short circuits from happening that may arise on the motor home end.Our kit's going to come with everything you need to get it installed, including the diodes, all the connectors necessary, and the wiring. Now, the reason you're going to want this wiring harness and diode kit for your vehicle is because when you're flat towing, you need to have a lighting system to stay legal. By utilizing diodes, we can use the factory bulbs in our taillight assembly and not have to worry about using magnetic tow lights on our vehicle, which can scratch the paint. We simply make a connection between the motor home and our Colorado, and we'll have our factor lights working for our taillights, our turn signals, and our brake lights. These diodes are great because not only do they utilize the factory bulbs that we already have, but the also prevent the flow of electricity from the motor home back into the expensive components of the Colorado, so we don't need to worry about any electrical back feed causing any damage to the vehicle's wiring or computer systems. Now, what's great about this kit is that we get a six way connector on the front of the vehicle with a nice spring loaded dust cover to keep the elements out. Now, for this particular flat tow setup, we use the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate, a Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect, the Roadmaster Seven to Six Wire Diode Flexo Coil Wiring Kit for our lighting system. For our braking system, we use an SMI Stay and Play Duo, and for our tow bar we use a Roadmaster Falcon Two Tow Bar. more

We'll have our brake lights like we have here as well as our other lighting functions that we need. Now, another nice thing about this is that there is no cutting or splicing of any of your factory wiring. So, you don't have to worry about voiding the warranty on your new vehicle. Also, it's not a separate bulb and socket that goes inside the taillight assembly. So, you don't have to worry about drilling a hole in your taillight assembly, thus giving you a potential area for water to get inside. It's a nice sealed system, utilizes the factory bulb that's already in your vehicle so you don't have to worry about putting magnetic tow lights on the side of the car, which could damage the paint. For this particular flat tow setup, we used a Blue Ox base plate kit with removable arms, the Hopkins Custom Taillight Wiring Kit for towed vehicles, a Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass, a Blue Ox 7-wire to 6-wire coiled cord kit, a Roadmaster battery charge line kit, a Blue Ox Patriot 2 portable braking system and a Blue Ox Alpha tow bar. Now, depending upon your application, you may or may not need a high-low adapter to ensure that your tow bar is level between your motor home and Equinox. more

Now we're also going to be installing the Roadmaster FuseMaster fuse bypass with the single 20 amp mini fuse, part number RM76511, because of our specific configuration. You should always double check your owner's manual and see which fuses need to be pulled in your Sonic. So here's what our fuse bypass switches look like once we have them installed. The owner's manual in our Sonic does recommend that we pull a fuse out before we tow, and these switches are going to prevent us from having to reach underneath the dash, or going underneath the hood every time that we tow it. A simple flip of the switch and we're going to cut the power going to those fuses, but at the same time flip them back and our car will drive like normal. Now an easy way to show you that our switches are working is right now they're both in the drive position. Part number is RM-155.Now the RM-155 kit's going to allow us to have a bulb style light in our existing housing without having to modify our vehicle's wiring at all. It's important to have these lights on the back of your vehicle especially when flat towing like this. So all of your signals will be seen by any motorist behind you and you can remain safe. Now I'd like the option of doing this over some of the other styles like the magnet lights. Those are just going to kind of stick on the top of the car and they do have their issues sometimes with functionality. The other option you would have to the incandescent style bulb we have here on the 155 kit. more
