So folks, why weight distribution What is weight distribution Well, pretty simply in a nutshell, weight distribution, just like the name sounds, evenly distributes weight over your axles of the tow vehicle and the vehicle, camper, tow or whatever you're towing behind it and gets it back up to level. So a lot of times if you're squatting in the rear, you're taking pressure off the front tires, your headlights are pointing up in the sky, not a safe scenario. Weight distribution will help get you back level, put weight back on the front tires, keep those headlights down, pointing safe. more

So folks, why weight distribution What is weight distribution Well, pretty simply weight distribution in a nutshell, it just simply evenly distributes weight, just like it says, weight distribution over the axles of both your tow vehicle and the camper trailer, whatever you're hauling. Most of the time when you hook up, if you're squatting a little bit, that's gonna put uneven pressure off the front wheels onto the back and it's gonna get your headlights higher, maybe takes away some traction from the front of your vehicle, make it unsafe. more

So why weight distribution What is weight distribution Well, pretty simply in a nutshell, weight distribution, just like the name says, evenly distributes weight over the axles of both the tow vehicle and the trailer that you're towing or camper and gets you right back up to a safe level ride and puts your headlights down back to a safe straight shot and it gives you evenly weighted traction over all the tires and axles. So how do I pick up the right sized one Well, this guy again is rated 10,000 pounds. So in this particular case, the total weight of your trailer, even with all your gear and stuff, needs to be less than 10,000 pounds max. more

Today, we're talking weight distribution and specifically our Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Four-Points Sway Control without a shank and it's rated at 14,000 pounds and 1,400 pounds tongue weight. So folks, why weight distribution Well, pretty simply, weight distribution will take uneven distributed weight whenever you're squatting down when you're hooked up and it's gonna push everything back level and it's gonna give you better stability, better control, keep your headlights pointed in a safe direction, and it's just gonna be a lot safer ride for both you and the towed vehicle, trailer, camper, whatever. Now, this particular unit has a built-in four-point control system, so you got the bars, you got the brackets, and then whenever you get a ball, that's sold separately, that ball would be your fourth point of sway control. Now, this unit does not use any kind of lift brackets, chains, that kind of stuff, you simply have the L-brackets that go on the side of the trailer frame. They need to be from the center of the ball back between 27 and 32 inches long or back rather. more

So why weight distribution What is weight distribution Well, in a nutshell, weight distribution evenly distributes the weight over the axles of both the vehicle and the towed camper trailer, whatnot. And if you're usually squatting when you're hooked up and pushing those headlights up, the weight distribution helps push everything level and gets your headlights back down to a safe direction and also puts weight back evenly over the front tires and wheels to give you better traction. Equal-i-zer 4-Point Sway Control Weight Distribution System Review- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the equalizer weight distribution hitch with built-in sway control. If you're unsure about what a weight distribution hitch is, it simply uses physics with having tension here in our bars to take that tongue weight that's normally pressed down on a vehicle and just kinda springs that back up, and that's gonna translate to a less squatting vehicle with less rays in the front, which translates to not only a higher weight capacity when towing, but also better turning, better stopping, and just overall less wear on the vehicle as you're going down the road. The way that it works, it evenly distributes the weight over the axles of the towed vehicle and the trailer, it's gonna give you stability and control while doing that. Then it's really just gonna make a level ride for not only the towed vehicle but also the trailer. And also with the integrated four point sway control, it limits the side to side movement. So if you ever have a trailer that's kind of swaying back and forth, the friction on the steel on steel contact where the bar's made on the L bracket is going to eliminate that or significantly reduce that, which is really nice. more

This is gonna be an electronic sway control device that essentially is going to be installed in line with your 7-pole on your trailer with brakes. Essentially what it's designed to do is if you've ever been traveling down the road and you start to get a little bit of sway and you wanna reach for your manual override on your brake controller to straighten your load out, that's what this is designed to do, but it's going to catch it before you'll even know that it started. Essentially, that's all it is. All it's gonna do is apply even pressure to both sets of brakes, or if you have a a single axle trailer with brakes, it'll just apply it to the one axle. more

So typically without a weight distribution system, all of that weight is pushing on that one connection point. So it can cause the rear of your tow vehicle to kind of squat down in the back, which puts a lot of strain on your rear suspension.
