Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Today in our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be test fitting the Thule GateMate tailgate pad and bike rack for full size trucks. Part number TH824. We already have our bike installed on it. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now normally this is how you would have the bike set up on the tailgate pad. You can fit at least one other bike on here, or you could also put say a surfboard or a stand-up paddle board. We have these points here on the top, which you can use as tie down points, which you can purchase those separately and secure your bike, or your paddle board or surfboard, to the actual tailgate pad itself. Let's go and take the bike off and set it aside. It just lifts up and off like that, very easy. Another feature about this, it has this flap here with hook and loop straps, which you can open up and have easier access to your tailgate latch like so. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty TH824- Video
Today, on our 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule GateMate tailgate pad and bike rack for full-size trucks, part number TH824. This measures about 62 inches wide. We already have a bike installed, as you can see here, but it also has other uses, such as if you want to put your surfboards or stand-up paddle boards, you could set them on here as well. It does have these areas here, which you can use for tie-down points to secure your bikes to it, and the pad does provide protection between your bike and your tailgate to make sure that your vehicle itself doesn't get scratched up. Let's go ahead and take the bike off. It simply lifts out. It can carry up to two bikes total, and this is excellent for trucks that have the built-in toolbox up at the front so you can't put the truck-bed bike racks that we also carry at etrailer.com. How it connects We have these three straps that go underneath the tailgate and connect here. You just cinch them down. more

I'm going to jump up into our truck bed and show you how we secure it down. To actually hold our bike in place we have a wheel hook which is going to actually sit in the back of our wheel. Today on our 2016 Toyota Tundra we're doing a test fit of of Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack. This is for full sized trucks, part number TH824. Now this is 62 inches wide, there is also a smaller one with part number TH823. We already have this set on our tailgate, all we had to do was drape it over the top here and even it out and then we're ready to secure it down with our straps. We have 3 straps, one to each side and then one in the center. There are a couple different ways you can actually secure these straps up, one of them that might be a little difficult if you have a certain type of bed liner if to feed it through in between the tailgate and the truck bed, just feeding it underneath. more

Thule Low Rider Bike Rack Review- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Low Rider bike rack, part number TH821XTR. The Thule Low Rider is a fork mounted bike rack that can be installed in either your truck bed or on your trailer. Really, it can be installed on any flat surface to create a custom bike carrier. It uses a 9 millimeter quick-release skewer with a single-hand adjustment, that way we can quickly load and unload our bike. It also features a Thule locking core with 2 keys, so we can feel safe knowing our bike is not going to go anywhere. I've gone ahead and removed the bike, so we can go over some additional features. The large opening here at the center allows you to pass a cable lock through, so you can further secure your bike, and Thule makes one, that part number TH538XT. more

Thule Low Rider Bike Block Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule low rider bike block, part number TH821. The Thule low rider bed block is a fantastic way to transport your bike in your truck bed or trailer. It uses a quick release 9mm skewer that allows for rapid loading and unloading. Though it only transports one bike, you can carry as many bikes as your truck bed or trailer can handle by picking up additional low rider blocks. It'll work with bikes that use standard or disc brake systems. The open design here at the center allows you to pass a cable lock through so you can further secure your bike. Thule makes one, and that's part number TH538XT. It secures with 4 screws, whereas most fork mounts only secure with 2, so it's going to be less vibration and more of a solid ride for our bike. It's made out of a heavy duty metal construction with a black finish, so it's going to resist rust and corrosion. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Ford F-150- Video
Today in this 2016 Ford F-150, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Bed Rider II bike rack for truck beds, part number TH822XTR. Now, how this works is it'll actually grab your bikes by the forks, and you do have space for additional fork mounts here, should you need them. To open them up, you simply pop this loose, and you can unscrew it from both sides to gain more space to lift up and out of the way. When you're ready to go, you simply push it back down, and these are lockable, so your bikes will be secure while you travel. The bike rack itself is lockable, but I'll show that later. Let's go ahead and take the bike out, and I'll lift it up and out of the way. Go ahead and close that back up. Now, the skewers themselves are also adjustable. Slide back and forth where you need them to by loosening these two screws here and just adjusting it as needed. Also, the other lock I was talking about is on this latch here, which is essentially how this hooks into your truck bed. You lift this up, which loosens it up, and then you spin the whole thing to either tighten it or loosen it to your specifications. Now, when you're ready to go, simply push it down, lock it up, and you're ready to travel. And there you have it for the Thule Bed Rider II bed bike rack for your truck bed, part number TH822XTR on our 2016 Ford F-150. First, we'll take it on our slalom course. more

Today on this 2016 Ram 1500 we're going to be showing you the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed bike rack, part number TH501. How the bike is actually attached to the rack it's going to have 1 point of contact and that's going to be at the wheel hook here. That holds it in place while it's in the bed of your truck. To loosen that up there's a button at the bottom here. You push that in and that will loosen up the hook enabling you to lower it and take out the bike. Today, on this 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Softride Shuttle Pad Tailgate Bike Carrier, part number SR26457. Now to begin we're going to go ahead and take the Shuttle Pad and just set it up and over our tailgate. Then next what we're going to do is we're going to take these straps and feed them in between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. There's a couple ways you can do this. Today, in our 2016 Ford F150, we've got out the Thule Instigator. We're going to test if it for you, and show you how it fits in the back of the vehicle, here. Now the Instigator is a very quick way of installing a bike rack in the bed of your truck, with no tools required, at all. At 17 1/2" wide, you should be able to get three across the back of your Ford pickup. Now to use it, what we're going to do is set the Instigator right here at the rear of the vehicle. You'll see the T-straps have already gone down into their location where we'll want those to be. It's going to be in the gap between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. more

Today on our 2012 Ford F-150, we've got out Thule Insta-Gater and we're going to test that in here and just kind of get you a look at how it works. The Insta-Gater's a bike rack designed to fit right in the channel or the gap that's going to run between the tailgate and the bed of the truck. Just position it just like so. We're going to allow both of the, see the T-straps there We're going to allow those to go down, so right in between the bed and the gate itself, and then as we close that up and that gap narrows, it's going to hold those in position for us, just like that. We're going to show you how we secure everything down, and then we'll go over some things that you can actually load up on here. So, I've just got this set right here, and what I'm going to do is start by adjusting it, making sure that our pads are sticking up and are at the ends, and then we'll open up our flack here. We're just going to open up our tailgate and let that hang down as normal, and because my arms aren't long enough I can't reach over to secure my straps into place, so what I have to do is actually feed them underneath my tailgate up under here and reach in between the two like so and just pull it up through, so if you're having difficulty feeding it through the bottom and reaching around and pulling it up, this might be an easier way to do so. Now, when I have that, I'm going to set my tailgate pad so that the tailgate kind of holds it in place, and we'll pull the rest of that strap through and we'll tighten it down a bit more. Now, we'll do the same thing on this side here; pull our strap out, reach it through. Let's go up and then down through our buckle and tighten that up a bit. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Single Bike Rack. That part number is TH501. Now I already have my bike secured down. I'm first going to show you how we do that and then we'll go over at how our bike rack is actually secured to our truck. If you step up in here, you'll see our wheel hook. Now this is going to push on our front tire here and ratch it down to secure our bike up against our tailgate and then to our wheel cradle. more

Thule Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2011 Ram 3500- Video
Today on this 2011 Ram 3500, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack for Full-Size Trucks. This is 62 inches wide for your larger tailgates. Just throw it over there. You'll see it's nice and padded here and it has this little door so you can open up your tailgate when needed. Now to install this, we need to take these straps and guide them in between the tailgate and the bed. Feed them through. more

Inno Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to do a test fit of the Inno Velo Gripper bike rack for truck beds, part number INRT201. We have a bike already on it. We're going to show you how it's all hooked up. How it is pretty much hooked up, we have a strap around our forks and a strap right here around our seat pole. To disengage it we have a little slot here we just push and to engage it just throw it in there, pull it until it's nice and tight. So we'll go ahead and pull it out. We're going to do the other one also in the back. more

Today on our 2011 Ford F150, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack. That part number is TH824. Now we already have it laid on top of our tailgate here. We are first going to show you how to secure that down and then we'll go over some things that you can actually put on our tailgate pad and then also how we secure that down as well. The first thing we'll do, since my arms aren't long enough to reach all the way down to the bed even if I lift up, we're going to open up our tailgate here. Now I will hold the tailgate pad with my hip and reach down, grab my strap, and straighten that out. Then I'll just feed it through underneath my tailgate and in between the tailgate and the truck bed here. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Sierra 2500, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Gate Mate Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack. This is going to be for a full size trucks and that part number is TH824. I already have it laid up on our tailgate here. It's easy to set on. Just lift it over, set that opposite side down there, and you're ready to secure it down. Because the truck is pretty tall, we are going to pull off our cover here and open up our tailgate. We'll then set that down. more
