Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2021 Volkswagen Atlas- Video
Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Rooftop Cargo Box and how it fits on our 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. So with the Atlas, we have a decent amount of storage in the back, but maybe you're looking to get some longer or maybe some messier items, something like a golf bag, skis and snowboards, or just anything that you don't wanna keep inside your vehicle, you'd rather get it up on the roof and protect it at the same time, this is a great way to do that, so let's check out how it works. The box is able to fit up to 16 feet of cubic storage, or the way that we phrase it, is up to three people's worth of stuff, and it's going to add on, at its highest point, 16 inches of height onto your overall system. That's the number you gonna wanna keep in mind as far as, "Can I sore this in my garage Do I need to take it off when I'm not using it" Or if there might be any clearance issues elsewhere. Also, the box itself weighs 48 pounds, so factoring that in and keeping account of your crossbars, your feet, and your roof rating, in the case of the Atlas, we found that that number is 200, so we wanna make sure that with the box, everything we're loading up inside, we wanna keep it under that number. more

Thule Roof Box Review - 2015 Volkswagen Golf- Video
Today in our 2015 Volkswagon Golf, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Force large rooftop cargo box, part number TH628. We already have it on top of our vehicle, however when you do lift this up, you want at least a second set of hands to help you put it into place, and you want to make sure that the quick-grip clamps are lined up with your crossbars. Since this cargo box can open from either side, you pretty much want to put it more towards the areas where you're going to be loading in things the most. For this instance, we have it closer to the passenger's side, but you can also put it more towards the driver's side. Or, you can center it up if you want to. With the box lined up pretty much where we want it to be, we'll go and get it open. First, you're going to need a key to get this to open. Turn it to the unlock position. more

We'll open the box and tighten the 2 hand knobs on the side to secure our feet around the bars. One of the great features of the Thule Sonic is its ability to let you know when the feet are tight around each bar. When tightening, you'll hear a clicking noise to let you know its secure. Another great feature is its ability to open from either side of the vehicle. Thule Pulse Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2010 Volkswagen Golf- Video
Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Golf we'll be test fitting the Thule Pulse Alpine Roof Top Cargo Box, with eleven cubic feet of space, matte black in color, part number TH613. Now remember, this box does only open from one side. So you'll need to position the box on the passenger side of the vehicle. With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placingthe cargo box onto the vehicle's load bars. With the box positioned, we'll unlock it, exposing the four slots on the bottom of the box. We'll now take the clamps and slide them down through the slots, over top of each bar. more

With a Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle. We'll begin our test fit by placing the cargo box onto the vehicles load bars. After positioning the clamps to fit over each bar we'll unlock the box and open the lid exposing the two closest knobs. more

Today on our 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, we'll be test fitting the Thule Sonic XXL Rooftop Cargo Box measuring22 cubic feet in metallic silver, part number TH636S. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by removing our rear antenna. We'll grab our box and place it under our roof rack. With the feet hanging out in the bottom of the box, we can adjust them as necessary to fit around each load bar. With our back situated the way we like, we can open the box by removing the key to the unlock position and lifting up on the lid. We'll tighten down the two hand knobs on this side of the box to secure our feet around our bars. more

Today, on our 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, well be test fitting the Thule Sonic Medium Rooftop Cargo Box measuring 13 cubic feet in Glossy Black, part number TH634B. With the Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System assembled on to our vehicle and our rear antenna removed, well begin our test fit by placing the Thule sonic directly on to our load bars. Just the feet are hanging out at the bottom of the box, we can adjust them as necessary to fit around our bars. With our box scooted forward, we do have room for our rear end antenna so well screw that back into place. Well open the passenger side of the box and tighten the 2 hand knobs on this side to tighten our feet around our bars. One of the great features of the Thule sonic is that when your feet are tight enough around the bars, you'll hear a clicking noise. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Touareg we'll be test fitting the Thule Force L Rooftop Cargo Box Aeroskin black in color with 13 cubic feet of space, part number th624. To begin our test fit we'll simply place the cargo box on to the vehicles crossbars. It may be easier to loosen up the claws of the cargo box before placing it on to the vehicle. We'll then use the key to open one side of the cargo box to expose the two closest knobs. We'll turn the knobs to tighten down the claws to secure one side of the box to the vehicles crossbars. We'll then close the lid and open up the other side of the cargo box repeating the same steps. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, we'll be test fitting the Thule Pulse Alpine rooftop cargo box with 11 cubic feet of space, matte black in color, part number TH613. Now with the roof rack system already assembled and onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the cargo box onto the vehicle's cross bars. We'll position the clamps over the cross bars, and turn the key to open the lid of the cargo box. Now that the four knobs are exposed, we can tighten them down, which will grip the cross bars, securing the Thule Pulse Alpine to the vehicle. Now this cargo box does open from one side, so we will be positioning the cargo box on the passenger side of the vehicle. This will allow us to easily load and unload our cargo. more

Now this rooftop cargo box does open from only one side, so well position the box favoring the passenger side of the vehicle. Well then turn the key to open up the lid of the cargo box to expose the four knobs, which control the clamps of the cargo box. Well position the clamps over the crossbars and tighten them down. Once theyre all tightened down the cargo box has been secured to the vehicles crossbars. more
