3 or 4 Bike Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack for a 2010 Nissan Murano

Question:

I am looking for a 3 bike trunk mounted rack which is compatable with the 2010 Nissan Murano S Model. I would also be interested in comparing a 4 bike rack. Thank you.

For 3 bike, trunk mounted racks both Thule and Yakima do not recommend using the racks on your 2010 Nissan Murano.

Thule states that the carrier is not recommended because top straps should not be mounted directly to glass or plastic trim covering glass.

Yakima states the same but adds if it must be done you must limit the load to only two bikes.

You could install a hitch like the etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, # e65AR, and add a bike rack like the SportRack Pathway 3 Bike Hitch Mount Folding Rack with Frame Mount Cradles, # SR2703. This rack folds out of the way so you can access the rear hatch of the vehicle.

For 4 bikes you can use the Yakima 4-Bike Hitch Mounted Tilt-Away Rack, # Y02476. This rack will also fit the recommended hitch and it, too, folds out of the way to gain access to the rear vehicle hatch.
