The Reese 5th wheel installation kit you referenced, part # RP30035, is a universal-type kit that is designed to fit a range of trucks. Installation requires a fair bit of drilling into the vehicle frame since the under-bed brackets cannot be pre-drilled for every possible vehicle.
According to my contact at Reese this kit will still work in your 2008 Ram 2500 diesel, although the installation will be more involved and take longer than using a custom-fit type install kit.
We do offer a semi-custom kit that will require no frame drilling and take less time overall. The Reese kit # RP50140-58 will fit your truck and install faster than the universal kit. This kit includes base rails which you already have.
If you want you can just add the custom brackets to use along with your existing base rails. Part # RP50140 will still save you some installation time and NOT require any frame drilling.
