Lift Cylinder Recommendation For Truck Toolbox On 2007 GMC

Question:

I bought a sliding toolbox that was a part of the GM Cargo Management system, and the lift shocks on the toolbox lid are worn out. This was on my 2007 GMC truck. Part is 7 inch long when closed, and 11inch long when fully extended. Will the part# UWSLIFTCYLIND you provide have the same measurements.

Expert Reply:

The dimensions of the Replacement Lift Cylinder for UWS toolboxes, part # UWSLIFTCYLIND sound like they are the same as the lifts on your GM Cargo management system. The problem may be how the lift cylinder attaches. The cargo box you have may be a different style or made by a different manufacturer. If the GM toolbox you have was manufactured by UWS, the replacement cylinder may work for you.

If you cannot determine that you have a UWS toolbox we may have a solution for you. We do offer the upper and lower brackets that you may be able to use on your tool box. These brackets are designed to be able to use the UWS lift cylinder.

For the upper bracket you can order part # UWS-TCA, and for the lower bracket you would need to order part # UWS-BCA.
