Effects of a Vehicle Wiring Kit and 2008 Dodge Grand Caravans Battery When Idle for 6 Months
Question:
I need to know if the solid state control that controls the electrical wiring for the trailer wiring package will draw on the battery if the car is unused for six months because the kit is connected directly to the battery? It is kit number 118552.

The ModuLite in the custom fit vehicle wiring kit # 118552 is designed to draw it's power from the battery. As a result, it bypasses the electrical routes that are used by the wiring harness.
I spoke with our technical representative at Tow Ready about your vehicle sitting for 6 months. As long as you have a good battery and the wiring is properly sealed everything should be just fine.
It may draw a little power from the battery but the ModuLite does a good job protecting your vehicles electrical system. If the trailer isn't plugged in, there will not be any draw. You can remove the fuse holder where the power wire attaches to the battery, which will terminate the connection to the battery.
I have included a couple instruction and installation links for you as well.
