I did some research and found that the towing capacity of your 2008 Kia Rondo is 1,000 lbs. That means you would be able to carry approximately 100 lbs total weight. The weight would include the weight of the carrier, plus any cargo you place in the carrier.
Using any adapter like part # HTAD in a hitch reduces it's weight capacity by 50 percent, so you would only be able to place a total of about 50 lbs in your hitch should you choose to use an adapter. Since the cargo carriers we offer are close to 50 lbs, I cannot recommend an adapter or cargo carrier that will let you carry the weight you described.
Since the hitch weight capacity is limited, I recommend a roof rack and possibly a cargo basket on the roof for your totes.
If you want to let me know the type roof you have on your Rondo, I can make some recommendations that may work out for you.
