Trailer wiring harness # 118569 is the correct one for your 2015 Acura RDX. The wiring is designed so that the 4-Way end gets ran out of the hatch when used. The hatch can be closed on the wires as long as you keep it away from the latching mechanism. The vehicle weather stripping will protect it.
If you want to run it permanently on the outside of the vehicle then you will need to remove as much of the flooring and panels as you can in the cargo area. Look for a grommet that you can run the wiring through. If there is no grommet, you would have to cut a hole in the bottom of the cargo area, run the wires through, then seal up the hole.
