Troubleshooting a Tekonsha Voyager that Wont Engage Trailer Brakes, Light Stays Orange
Question:
Brake controller is all hooked up. Went off brake light switch instead of wiring pigtail. I have power to the brakes. Brakes are adjusted to just touch the drums. I followed leveling instructions, 3 times, and tried to activate the brakes. The controller only turns yellow not red. I set controller for aggressive braking and got nothing. Any ideas?

It sounds like you haven't found the correct brake switch wire. You will want to use a circuit tester to test the wires around the brake pedal for a circuit that sees voltage only when the brakes are applied and none when released.
The easier way to install the controller would have been to use the brake controller harness part # 22292 though as this will make all of the correct connections for the controller to your 2009 Ford F-150.
I attached an FAQ on brake controller installs for you to check out as well.
