What Parts are Needed to Tow Jeep with the RoadMaster StowMaster Car-Mounted Tow Bar w/ Lunette Ring
Question:
Im very interested in the Roadmaster Stowmaster Tow Bar with Lunette Ring, part # RM-581. And it looks like it includes litterally everything I would need, including the quick disconnect plates for mounting to my bumper but Im not certain from the description. I have a Jeep Wrangler with a 3/16 steel plate bumper that is directly bolted to the frame of the vehicle that I could bolt the quick connects directly to, if they are included with this package. So If I buy this, and I already have a pintle mount, do I need to buy anything else?

Other than the Tow Bar, you would need the wiring so that the lights on your Wrangler would work in tandem with the lights on the tow vehicle, and the vehicle-specific base plates that would attach to the Wrangler. The base plates provide an attachment point for the quick disconnect bracket on the Tow Bar.
For the wiring, there are three different methods that can be used. The simplest way to go would be to use the magnetic mount light kit, part # RM-2120. This kit has the benefit of remaining independent of the Wranglers wiring system, making installation extremely simple. Another option would be to use the RoadMaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs, part # RM-155. This kit has bulbs that would mount inside the existing tail light assemblies, and would also work independently of the Wranglers wiring system. This install is a bit more involved than the magnetic mount, but is still simple and straightforward. The last option would be to tap directly into the the towed vehicles wiring to use the existing lights on the Wrangler. You would need the Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, part # 38955.
The base plates needed will depend on the model year of your Wrangler, but I am unsure if your aftermarket bumper would interfere with installing the base plates. If you could respond with the model year of your Wrangler, I can make some specific recommendations.
