If you do not have a connector at the rear of your 2009 Hummer H3T, I recommend the Draw-Tite Custom Fit Wiring, part # 18252.
This harness comes with a circuit tester to help locate the wires you need to tap in to.
If you need a 7-way connector on the back of your H3T, you will need an installation kit like part # ETBC7. This will attach to the 4-way connector and with additional wiring give you a 4-way and a 7-way connector at the back of your Hummer.
If you need a brake controller, I recommend the Prodigy P2, part # 90885. this is one of our most popular brake controllers because it is easy to install and use.
When working with electrical connectors, I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. this keeps dirt and moisture out of the connections and helps prevent corrosion.
I have attached a few helpful articles you can check out that explain brake controllers and wiring.
