Troubleshooting a Trailer Wiring Harness # 56042 Install on a 2014 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I have a highlander Toyota says the 10 pin connector is not used, only the 4 pin. I found the 4 pin. The instructions appear to be for a 2013, the connector was in middle not on the left side. It was under the plastic liner. the OBD connector is fixed under the column. That is the only plug of significance that I see. It appears to have been changed somewhat from the one in the instructions as well. I see no 10 pin connector under the dash board. There was no fuse in the towing location, I put a 10A in there but still have no juice at the four pin plug. If I were to guess I put the fuse in the wrong tiny hole, my eyes arent what they used to be. Am I missing something?

The 4 pin connector used to install the # 56042 can be in a few locations which does make the install a little more interesting. I am glad you were able to find it.

I would verify that you put the fuse in the correct location. If that doesn't fix the problem I would verify that the connector of the # 56042 is making solid connection with you tow vehicle and that the fuse didn't blow while in the wrong slot.
