Is the Brake Controller in My Truck Causing my Rear Brakes to Not Function Properly
Question:
I have a work truck its a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 bought used and it has a healthy energizer. when I stop the rear brakes seemed kind of odd like they stop later like theyre catching up with the rest of the truck idk Im not real mechanically inclined. anyways can I just uninstall the Energizer hoping that will solve the problem? fYI I just had my rear brakes replaced few months ago

Helpful Expert Reply:
The brake controller you have installed in your 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 would not affect the performance of the rear brakes of your truck. The functioning of the controller is far removed from how your brakes function. Removing the brake controller will not change or affect the problem you are experiencing.
I would recommend you take your truck back to the shop that you had your brakes done at and have them look at it again. Or, if you don't trust them I would recommend you find a more qualified shop.
