Installing Tekonsha Brake Controller # 90885 on 2009 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab with Factory Tow Package
Question:
Ive found an installation video on the internet. I'm assuming it will be the same for all 2009 GMC/Chevy pickups? Next - it appears that the wire bundle the installer pulls out is simply stubbed off with shrink wrap/insulation? So you merely pull it all out, and then use to connect? Or did the installer pull these out of some socket or other connection?

Here at etrailer we produce videos for a whole range of vehicles as they come to us for on-site installation and we have a Prodigy P2 # 90885 brake controller video for a 2007 model year Sierra. This video is linked for you at right along with a detailed installation article.
The tow package wiring will be found taped together with a label to indicate the function of each wire. This will typically be tucked away under the dash and potentially taped or zip-tied to other wiring. You are looking for a wire bundle with red/black, orange, blue and white wires. Please refer to the linked video at the :40 second mark.
The wires from the Sierra will connect to the P2's wiring as follows;
Vehicle RED connects to P2 BLACK
Vehicle DARK BLUE connects to P2 BLUE
Vehicle Orange (or LIGHT BLUE) connects to P2 RED
Vehicle WHITE connects to P2 WHITE
The linked article will help you complete the install; please refer to the color photos and step-by-step instructions.
