What is the Difference Between Signature Series Install Kits 30074 and 30067

Question:

you list 2 part numbers for install kit for 2006 Dodge ram 2500 short bed 6ft. one is #30074 the other is #30067. which one applies to my truck and what is the difference in the two kits. does it matter that my bed is actually 6ft 5in. please give me the correct part # for my hitch and truck. I have a Signature Series 18K with slider, I believe that is the puck system.

The Signature Series Reese hitches are indeed the puck systems. Both installation kits, part 30067 and part # 30074, will fit your 2006 Dodge Ram 2500.

The 30067 will require drilling the truck frame and was made obsolete a while back. The 30074 is a custom designed install kit that will bolt to existing mount locations and clamps around the frame so that no drilling is necessary. This reduces install time and some people do not want to add any holes to their truck frame.

Most of our customers choose the custom fit install kits when available to make the installation quicker and easier. With either of these kits, you will still have to drill the 4 holes in the truck bed.

It does not matter that your bed is actually 6 foot 5 inches. These are the install kits you should use.
