I do not have specific installation instructions for the Isolation Solenoid part # PK5231201 on your 2004 Ford Explorer, but I can describe how it would install on your vehicle.
Using the picture I attached as a guide you run a wire from the positive terminal of your vehicle battery to the post on the left, and then on the right side of the solenoid you will run wire to whatever accessory you are looking to power. The middle terminal will need signal from a power source that only sees voltage when the key is on. In my car I ran a wire from the power wire for the traction control switch. Radio or ignition circuit work great for this as well.
