Releasing Some Pressure From Trailair Air Ride Pin Box to Make Hitching Up Fifth Wheel Easier

Question:

Hi Ill like to know if it is easier or better to take off air to hook up and put it back after it hook up ? I have to raise the 5th wheel high to hook my Ram 3500 rdw. So if I unflate the trail air, would that be easyer ?

It's a matter of personal preference. Letting some of the air out of the bag would allow the bag to compress a bit as you're hitching, which means you wouldn't need to raise the fifth wheel quite so high. If letting some of the pressure out of the air bag makes hitching easier, by all means, do so. Keep in mind, however that you don't want to let all the air out of the air bag. I'd leave at least 10 psi in there. Once the fifth wheel is hitched up, you can refill the air bag.
