What Tongue Weight Capacity Hitches are Available for the 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI
Question:
Hello, I am looking for a hitch that has a higher TW Tongue then 200lbs for my 2013 VW Passat TDI Diesel. I am looking to use a cargo carrier in the hitch that says it will carry up to 500lbs. It will be used for beach/fishing trips cooler fully loaded and gear and also for deer hunting hauling carcass to butcher. Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
All of the hitches available for your 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI are Class I hitches with 200 lbs tongue weight capacity and 2,000 lbs of total trailer weight.
The only option you would have using your tow vehicle would be to tow a small trailer. For that you could use the Draw Tite Hitch part # 24880 that you referenced.
