Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2015 Subaru Forester to Clear Bumper
Question:
I just had a draw tiite trailer hitch installed on my 2015 Subaru Forrester Limited. I rushed out and bought a platform bike by Yakima and noticed that it didnt fit, due to the distance from the pinhole to the bumper. The pinhole / hitch is recessed quite a ways back in my Subaru Forrester. Do you have any suggestions for platform bikes that will work with a draw tite mounted hitch. If I measured correctly I need almost 8 inches to clear my bumper. Im novice mountain bike rider and mostly wanted pedal around with my son, and preferred to get a platform bike rack. A secondary question are there other 1 1/2 inch trailer hitches that extends farther out than the drawl tite? I hope and I dont have to return the draw tite and purchase another hitch. I was not expecting to run into the circumstance. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider part # HR200Z would be a rack that would have plenty of clearance. This rack has a distance of 12-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole to the nearest wheel hoop which should be plenty for you and won't require you to get a different hitch.
